1. STANDARD TERMS
1.1 Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry. Entry into the promotion is deemed acceptance of these conditions for entry.
2. WHO CAN ENTER
2.1 Subject to clause 2.2 entry is open to all residents currently residing in Greater Brisbane including Ipswich, Logan & the Moreton Bay Region (ie at the time they enter the competition).
2.2 Directors, management, employees and their immediate families of Nationwide News Pty Ltd trading as Quest Community Newspapers, are not eligible to enter. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether by natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin.
2.3 Any Employer and employee of the participating business involved in the promotion are not eligible to enter.
3. HOW TO ENTER
3.1 The competition commences on Wednesday 17th October 2012 at 6am AEST and closes on Wednesday 28th November 2012 at 6PM AEST (the competition period)
3.2 To enter the competition, Readers must take the following steps
· Find out the participating businesses, During the competition period these businesses will be listed in a full page directory listing in participating Quest titles or can be found at questnews.com.au/livelocalbuylocal
· Go to the premises of a participating business, on entry into the premises of a participating business, find the large Posters & Counter Stand which will display a unique SMS Code
· To enter the promotion Readers will be require to text the code, with their full name and suburb to the number displayed on the poster.
· The unique code for each store will change throughout the Promotional Period. This will be at the discretion of The Promoter and the Participating Store.
· The code will only be valid for the time it is displayed in the participating business. When the participating business changes the displayed code, the old code will be redundant. Readers will need to current code at the date of entry to have a valid entry.
3.3 To enter the competition, readers must provide the following information without limitation including.
· Full name
· Suburb
· Code
The cost of sending an SMS entry is the responsibility of the entrant and will vary depending on the mobile network used. Total cost of SMS entry is 55 cents including GST. (Entry service is provided by Salmat Interactive Pty Ltd, SMS helpline: 1300 131 276.)
3.4 The Promoter, its agents, affiliates or representatives will not be liable for any lost, late or misdirected entries.
3.5 Incomprehensible and incomplete entries or entries with no or an incorrect code word will be deemed invalid. This competition is a game of chance. A completely random draw will determine the winner/s.
4. HOW TO WIN
4.1 Each entrant who has validly entered over the competition period will be entered into the prize draw. All draws will take place at Salmat IDR L2, 116 Miller Street, North Sydney NSW 2060 on Thursday 29 November 2012 at 10am.
4.2 The first valid entry drawn on Thursday 29 November will win the major prize of
$10, 000 cash and the next three subsequent valid entries drawn will each win $2500 cash.
4.3 The prize winner/s will be notified by phone call or mail.
4.4 The prize winners/s will be published on-line and in-paper in the next available edition of each relevant masthead.
4.5 The Promoter’s decision in relation to any aspects of the competition is final and the Promoter will not enter into any correspondence regarding the result.
4.6 Entries which do not comply with these terms and conditions will not be considered valid and will not be eligible to win, if an invalid entry is drawn out a new prize draw will take place to determine the winner/s.
4.7 The Promoter reserves the right to request that the winners provide proof of identity, proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address and/or proof of entry validity (including phone bills) in order to claim the prize. Proof of identification, residency and entry considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered.
4.8 The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which, in the opinion of the Promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions of entry, or who has, in the opinion of the Promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the promotion and/or Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner if the Promoter becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.
4.9 Entrants can enter a maximum of once per day per code throughout the competition period.

* Week four – Two (2) x $500 weekly winners
The competition opens on Monday 5 November 6am AEST and closes Monday 12 November at 12pm and winners will be drawn at 1:00PM.
* Week five – Three (3) x $500 winners
The competition opens on Monday 12 November 6am AEST and closes Monday 19 November at 12pm and winners will be drawn at 1:00PM.
* Week six – Two (2) x $500 winners
The competition opens on Monday 19 November at 12pm and closes Wednesday 28th November at 12pm and winners will be drawn at 1:00PM.
Total prize pool is $25,000
5.1 Once the winner details are received the prize money will be deposited into the winners nominated bank account and this process can take up to four weeks
5.2 The prize is not exchangeable or transferable. Any additional charges are the responsible of the winner.
5.3 If the winner/s is under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to their legal guardian.
5.4 If the number provided by the Winning Entry is disconnected or goes to Voice Mail with no return call, for more then one month (30 days) from the date of the draw, a new Winning Entry will be drawn.
5.5 Weekly Winners will be re-entered into the Major & Minor Prize Draw. You can win a Weekly Prize and still win a Major or Minor Prize.
5.6 The Major prize winner will not be re-entered into the Minor Prize Draw, and each Major and Minor Prize Winner can only win once.
6. NO LIABILITY
6.1 The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the entrant or any of the equipment or programming associated with, or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error, or combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition, including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or telephone, mobile or satellite failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries.
6.2 If for any reason, this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition subject to any written directions given under State Legislation.
6.3 The Promoter does not exclude any rights and remedies in respect of goods or services under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or equivalent State or Territory legislation which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. However, the Promoter excludes all rights, remedies, guarantees, conditions and warranties in respect of goods or services from your entry into this competition and your use of our website whether based in statute, common law or otherwise to the extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent possible the promoter excludes all liability arising in relation to:
a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control);
b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference;

g) participation in the prize.
6.4 Once prizes have left the promoter’s control, the Promoter and their associated agencies take no responsibility for prizes damaged, delayed or lost in transit.
6.5 The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.
6.6 The Promoter is not responsible for the display of promotional Point Of Sale within participating businesses. Each Participating Business will be provided with the posters and stand to display unique codes and SMS details at it is at their discretion how and where these are displayed.
6.7 The Promoter is not responsible for any changes in The Promotion due to unforseen circumstances of participating businesses such as a business closing down, not displaying the promotion material codes or not being open at all times throughout the competition period.
