Look, I’m not 100% proud of all my early 2000s teen obsessions. Some have aged well, like Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears’ all-denim outfits. Some have aged poorly, like… Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears’ all-denim outfits.

Now, Disney and Pixar’s new film Turning Red has pushed all those nostalgic buttons and got me thinking about what life was like when Missy Elliott ruled the charts and Eddie McGuire was just a bloke who wanted to give away one million dollars.

Set in Toronto during the early 2000s, Turning Red tells the story of Meilin “Mei” Lee, a 13-year old Chinese Canadian who turns into a giant red panda whenever she gets too excited or stressed. Is there a more perfect metaphor for what it feels like to be 13 and facing all those new changes and experiences? (The answer is no).

To celebrate the release of the film, which is made by the same people who put together The Incredibles and Inside Out (you may have heard of it? Pixar?), we’re giving away an awesome weekend away for you and a friend at Taronga Zoo.

We’re talking a two-person tent at the Taronga’s overnight Roar and Snore accommodation, flights/transfers to the zoo, drinks and food on arrival, dinner and breakfast, a guided night safari, a close encounter experience with one of the animals and complimentary admission to the zoo the next day.

Oh, you’ll also get $1000 cash to spend for the weekend.

All you gotta do is tell us in 25 words or less what your biggest teen obsession was. Easy!

The prize is a Roar n Snore Event experience at Taronga Zoo for the two (2) people. The prize includes:

Return economy flights (if the winner lives outside of NSW);
Transfers to Taronga Zoo;
Two person tent at the Roar and Snore (overnight accommodation);
Drinks & finger food on arrival;
Dinner & breakfast;

Complimentary admission to Taronga Zoo the next day; and
