distribute and display my entry as a Christmas Card by the Mayor, Elected Members and Town of Gawler staff. In addition, my artwork can be published

as a poster and displayed in the main street of Gawler.

COMPETITION GUIDELINES
In 2024 Council is organising Christmas Cards for the Mayor, Chief Executive Officer for distribution to
other Councils, government agencies, schools, community groups and individuals who have a professional
relationship with the Council.
We are inviting Primary School students across the Town of Gawler, to enter the 2024 Mayor’s Christmas Card
Competition.
Students from the below three categories are invited to draw or paint a Christmas scene that they feel reflects what
Christmas means to them and which follows the guidelines below.
The winning entry from each category will be printed onto Christmas Cards with the student’s name, year and school
printed on the inside of the card. Entries will also be displayed at Council sites and along Murray Street throughout
the Christmas season. Winning entrants, their parents/care givers, and school representative will be invited to an
Awards Ceremony to receive their prize.
Category details
Entries will be assigned to three categories based on the student’s year level at the time of entry
Category 1: Reception & Year 1
Category 2: Year 2 & 3
Category 3: Year 4, 5 & 6
Guidelines for entry
1. Entries must reflect what Christmas means to you
2. Entries must be drawn onto the official Entry Form (please do not provide the entry on a separate piece of paper)
3. Entrants must either live in or attend a school within the Town of Gawler
4. Entries must include the child’s full name, suburb they live in, school and year level
5. Only one (1) entry per student will be accepted
Prizes
First, second and third prizes will be awarded to students from each of the three categories. Prizes are as follows
First Prize: $100 gift voucher
Second Prize: $75 gift voucher
Third Prize: $50 gift voucher

Competition opens: Monday 26 August 2024
Competition closes: Friday 20 September 2024
Judging occurs: Monday 8 October 2024
Winners notified: Wednesday 10 October 2024
Awards Ceremony: Monday 4 November 2024
