SHATTER ME GIRLFRIEND COMPETITION
By entering the Shatter Me Girlfriend Competition you are agreeing to the
following terms and conditions:
1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms of entry.
2. Subject to clause 3, entry is open to all residents of AUSTRALIA and
New Zealand.
3. Employees and immediate families of Allen & Unwin Pty Ltd, MNET
Group Limited, associated companies and agencies and participating
outlets are not eligible to enter this competition. Immediate family
means any of the following: spouse, ex spouse, defacto spouse, child or
step child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step parent,
grandparent, step grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother,
sister, step brother, step sister or first cousin.
4. The competition commences on Wednesday 21 September 2011 at 00:01 AEST
and concludes on Friday 21 October 2011 at 23:59 AEDT.
5. Entrants must register their Full Name and State and answer to the
question "What special power would you like to have?" by either
o Sending a SMS text of no more than 160 characters and spaces to
1970 2200
OR
o Accessing the mobile site at
http://m.2mymob.com/shatterme.
6. Entrants (including winners) in the competition may enter as many
times as they like, but each entry must be unique and charged to a
mobile account. Entries via the internet, computer generation or
"scripting" are invalid and will not be accepted.
7. Entries must be received by Friday 21 October 2011 at 23:59 AEDT.
The time of entry will in each case be the time the SMS message is
received by the MNET Group Limited database.
8. Each SMS entry will be charged at premium rate, namely $0.55
(including GST), which covers the entry and the reply message.
9. All entrants under the age of 18 must obtain the prior permission
of a parent or guardian over the age of 18 to enter.
10. Winners will be judged on Friday 28 October 2011 at 10:00 AEDT.
11. There will be one (1) major winner and nine (9)
minor winners (ten (10) winners in total) judged by a panel of
judges appointed by the Promoter to be the most creative and original from
all entries received. The competition is a game of skill and chance plays no part
in determining the winner. The judges' decision is final and the
Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the result.

13. Total prize pool is $2,046.70 (incl GST). Prize value is correct as
at the date of printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize
value between now and the ultimate date on which the prize is taken.
14. Prizes cannot be transferred and cannot be redeemed for cash. Winners should
seek independent financial advice about any tax implications that may arise from
the prize winnings.

16. Winners' details will be published in the public notices of The Australian on
Monday 7 November 2011.
17. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner must comply with all
the conditions of use of the prize and prize supplier's requirements.
18. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner (and any companions)
may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its
absolute discretion.
19. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which
prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter's ability to proceed with the
competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions,
including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters,
acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its
absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the
same conditions, subject to state government legislation.
20. Allen & Unwin Pty Ltd, MNET Group Limited and their associated
agencies and companies will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in
transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.
21. Allen & Unwin Pty Ltd, MNET Group Limited, and their associated
agencies and companies will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury,
loss (including but not limited to consequential loss) or claim that may occur:
a. whilst undertaking any travel connected with their entry into the competition;
b. in the participation in any prize;
c. as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;
d. in relation to failure of an SMS entry message to be received by the Promoter on
account of technical problems or traffic congestion; or
e. Entries via internet or computer generation will be deemed invalid and will not be
accepted by the Promoter.
22. Allen & Unwin Pty Ltd assumes no responsibility for any error, omission,
interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications
line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries,
and reserves the right to take any action that may be available.
23. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, due to
causes including but not limited to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud,
technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which
corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of
this competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify
any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available,
and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to state
government legislation.

25. Entry details remain the property of the Promoter. MNET Group Limited on behalf

competition (including but not limited to determining and notifying winners), and,
