"Salomon is our longest and most technical footwear partnership: they're at the forefront of the light and fast movement – they redefined what hiking boots should be like."

Salomon is based in the heart of the Alps in Annecy, France, which provides a fantastic outdoor environment for adventures. It originally started out as a ski brand – bindings, then boots and skis – and later Salomon took its learnings in that outdoor arena and applied it to footwear.

"Salomon products are designed for freedom," says Sylvain Coulin, French and Global Commercial Manager Outdoor Footwear for Salomon. "Our brand motto is to truly give consumers the best comfort and freedom while practicing outdoor sports."

"Salomon is my go-to brand," says Andy, a Summit Club member and part of the Kathmandu Tonga crew. "It's mainly the fit, the durability, and they're super-light, compared to other brands – especially their trail running shoes. And they look good."

On the Tonga trip, Andy got to try out Salomon hiking boots for the first time. "Up until now I've only tried their trail runners, but this boot was comfortable straight away. I'm definitely going to buy a pair."

Known for high quality and design innovation (like Kevlar speed laces, which don't absorb water – less weight – and are strong and quick to adjust), Salomon "owns the trail running space. Their attention to detail is right up there," Simon says. "We've partnered with Salomon for 12 years, since they first came into footwear, and our strong relationship has allowed us to utilise their design knowledge and strength to develop our own outdoor footwear: the two ranges complement each other, providing the best offering for our customers."

‘THE PROMOTION’
Enter online at www.kathmandulivethedream.com (between Thursday, 8th October 2014 and Monday 17th November 2014, 11.59am AEST), and go into the draw to “Be in to Win” a trip to the SOUTH PACIFIC destination of your choice.
The prize includes:
• 1 x Australian winner - An AUD6,250 travel voucher/credit from Corporate Traveller
• 5 x Australian runner-up winners – a pair of Salomon shoes from Kathmandu’s currently stocked range.

• 1 x New Zealand winner - A NZD7,000 travel voucher/credit from Addington House of Travel
• 5 x New Zealand runner-up winners – a pair of Salomon shoes from Kathmandu’s currently stocked range.
The winner may decide how they spend the travel voucher/credit in conjunction with the services offered by the relevant travel provider – Addington House of Travel (New Zealand winner) or Corporate Traveller (Australian winner).

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. ‘THE PROMOTION’ runs from Thursday 8th October 2014 at 12:01am - Monday 17th November 2014, 11.59am AEST.
2. The Promoters reserve the right to terminate or withdraw ‘THE PROMOTION’ at any time.

HOW TO ENTER
3. Entry into ‘THE PROMOTION’ is open to current Summit Club members only who correctly complete the entry form online at www.kathmandulivethe dream.com
4. Entry into ‘THE PROMOTION’ is available to residents of Australia and New Zealand, except employees of Kathmandu Ltd, Intrepid and their immediate families, who are not eligible to enter.
5. Entrants must be over the age of 18 to enter.
6. Entrants may only enter once.
7. The Promoter will judge the entries to determine the winning Entrant and runner-up winners, which it considers, in its sole discretion, to be the most creative entries. The Promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
8. The judging of the winning entries will take place at Kathmandu Ltd, 11 Mary Muller Drive, Hillsborough, Christchurch 8022, New Zealand and will be completed by Monday 1st December 2014 at 12.00pm.
9. The winners will be notified via email, following the completion of ‘THE PROMOTION’
10. In the event of an unclaimed prize, where we are unable to contact the winner, another winning entry will be chosen and this will take place at the same venue and time on Monday 2nd March 2015.
11. The new winner will be notified via email following the completion of ‘THE PROMOTION’
12. By entering the contest, entrants consent to the use of their names, city of residence, photograph and/or image for publicity purposes carried out by the Promoters, without payment or compensation.

PRIZE
1. The main prize is one travel voucher/credit worth NZD7,000 (New Zealand winner) or one travel voucher/credit worth AUD6,250 (Australian winner) and cannot be split up into different packages and must be taken at once and is not transferrable.
2. There are also 10 x runner up prizes (5 x New Zealand winners and 5 x Australian winners) of Salomon shoes – the runner up winners will select from current stocked Salomon shoes in their local Kathmandu store. Prize limited to available stock and sizes, not all sizes stocked in all styles, not transferable, no rain checks.
3. All bookings using the travel voucher/credit must be made through the Addington House of Travel (New Zealand winner) or Corporate Traveller (Australian winner), contact information will be provided to the winner.
4. The travel voucher/credit may be used for travel for any number of participants – from an individual to a group as long as the total value of the booking equal to or less than the total value of the travel voucher/credit (excluding any top-ups – see pt. 6)
5. The travel voucher/credit must be spent on travel to a South Pacific destination of the winner’s choice. For the purposes of this competition the destinations deemed ‘South Pacific’ are those within the South Pacific region where a scheduled flight operates.
6. The winner may spend the travel voucher/credit on any flights, accommodation, rental cars, resort packages, holiday packages or activities able to be booked through the specified travel provider – Addington House of Travel (New Zealand winner) or Corporate Traveller (Australian winner).
7. When booking their travel the winner may choose to ‘top-up’ the value of the final booking if they wish.
8. Travel must be completed by 31st December 2015. No extension is available.
9. The trip is subject to availability and confirmation by Addington House of Travel (New Zealand winner) or Corporate Traveller (Australian winner).
10. Travel Insurance is highly recommended and is not included in the prize. Passports, travel visas required, any other transport as required to and from departure point and all other ancillary costs, as well as obtaining any of these, are the responsibility of the winner and their travel companion(s).
11. There is no cash value to this prize and it cannot be exchanged or transferred.
12. Standard booking conditions apply.
13. The Promoter/s shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the prize except for any liability, which cannot be excluded by law. The Promoter will not be responsible for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the course of or in connection with this promotion if the deficiency is occasioned by any cause outside the reasonable control of the Promoter including without limitation technical malfunctions or failures. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.
14. In the event of war, terrorism, state of emergency, disaster or any other circumstance beyond the control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right to either provide an alternative travel destination to the same value as the original prize or, subject to any applicable laws or written directions made under applicable legislation, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.

16. Kathmandu, Salomon, the Promoters and any other person or party associated with this promotion are not responsible for any problems, delays or technical malfunction of any telephone or network or lines, servers or providers, fax equipment, computer equipment, software, technical problems or traffic congestion on a network or a mobile network or any combination thereof, or any other technical failures including any damage to Entrant’s or any other person’s fax equipment, mobile handset, computer or peripherals related to, or resulting from, participation in this promotion or the downloading of any materials related to this Promotion. Kathmandu, Intrepid Travel, the Promoters and any other person or party associated with this promotion shall not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss), damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (including but not limited to that arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with the Promotion or taking any Prize or using any Prize, except any liability that cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law).
