Win wines hightly rated by Sommelier Joseph Burton
Every wine sale through December and January is in the draw
Levantine Hill Estate Samantha's Paddock 2012

Levantine Hill Estate Samantha's Paddock 2012
Apogee Tasmania 2011 Deluxe Vintage Brut
Terra Sancta Mysterious diggings pinot noir

Through the VisitVineyards.com wine store, leading Australian Sommelier Joseph Burton is bringing you some of the outstanding wines he's come across, based on his many years of experience.
These three wines are amongst them and will hopefully entice you over to the wine store to discover more and take some home!

If you buy any wine from the VisitVineyards.com wine store through December and January, you'll be in the draw to win one of these fine bottles of wine:

2012 Levantine Hill Estate 'Samantha's Paddock' Melange Traditionelle (Yarra Valley, Australia)

A traditional Bordeaux Blend of the five varieties used to produce the worlds most famous and most expensive red wines, this extraordinary red wine is hand made in minute quantities at Levantine Hill in the Yarra Valley.

So wonderfully complete, it is perfectly balanced enabling medium term cellaring although approachable (better if decanted a half hour or so before consumption).

Blackcurrant, red currant, cranberry, leafy and woody aromas, flow through to intense but medium bodied flavours of savoury, spicy blackcurrant with grippy cranberry like tannin, wonderfully balanced acidity and length that is nothing short of remarkable.

Valued at $140 a bottle

2011 Apogee Deluxe Vintage Brut (Tasmania, Australia)

Apogee is Andrew Pirie's new single vineyard project from the Pipers River region.

Traditional Champagne blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, cooler conditions in 2011 produced a wine that smells like citrus, granny smith apples, oyster shell, iodine and brine.

In the mouth the attack is fresh and intense, the bubbles seamlessly caress one's tongue while the flavour broadens out to reveal flavours of pear, slightly riper citrus and yeasty, bread dough.

Valued at A$55.00 a bottle

2013 Terra Sancta 'Mysterious diggings' Pinot Noir (Central Otago, New Zealand)

Aromatically lovely ripe red fruits coupled with some dried earth aromas, Generous and plump fruit to begin but not over the top.

The palate here is ean and fresh yet still retains a core of ripe red and darker fruits.  Some spicy, woody flavours add complexity and balance the fruit out creating an harmonious pinot noir that is simply delicious.

Valued at A$45.00 a bottle

WHAT'S IN STORE?

Hop over to the store where you'll find a selection of wines tailored for your festive season entertaining and the summer ahead.

You'll see that there are some Spanish wines included and perhaps wonder why. According to Joseph, they bridge the gap between Australian and French wines, giving you the chance to adjust your palate and ease your way into European wines. And we're all for exploring wines of the world!

Joseph says that the other great thing about Spanish wines is that they almost always over-deliver for their price and often don't necessarily involve large amounts of cash.
