This weeks Essential Magic - Dr Hook - Timeless, a brand new double compilation album from the legendary and much-loved American rock band Dr Hook.
'Timeless' is a 40-track collection of chart hits, love songs and lesser known gems from the band's extensive repertoire, hand-picked by Dennis Locorriere, Dr Hook's lead singer and guitarist.
Paying homage to the band's 1972 hit 'Sylvia's Mother', which reached #1 on the Australian singles chart, the album is released in the lead up to Mother's Day and showcases the many musical styles of Dr Hook. Across two CDs, the collection features some of Dr Hook's most cherished love songs including the No. 1 smash 'When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman', plus 'Sexy Eyes', 'Better Love Next Time', 'Sharing The Night Together' and 'If Not You', as well as classic crowd-pleasers such as 'Cover Of Rolling Stone' and 'The Millionaire'. Two additional live tracks have also been included on CD2, 'Stoned and I Missed It' and 'Ooh-Poo-Pah-Doo', highlighting the incredible live performances which Dr Hook was renowned for. As an Australian exclusive 'The Wild Colonial Boy' has been included as the final track on the album.
Talking about 'Timeless', Dennis Locorriere said: "None of us could have known at the time that what we were creating was destined to stand the proverbial test of time. There were many sides to Dr Hook… Some people may remember, maybe even prefer one side or the other. I'm proud of this collection because it touches on all the facets of Dr Hook's music and is the first release to accomplish that."

As part of the Dennis Locorriere presents DR HOOK Timeless World Tour, the Australian dates have just been announced. Reaching capital cities and major regional centres the tour will cover 15 dates with his full band performing all the hits of Dr Hook. Tickets go on sale April 13. See tour dates below.
