Comp closes on Thursday 7 February, 2016TERMS AND CONDITIONS:1. This competition is open to residents of the state of NSW Australia, except for employees of the Alliance Française de Sydney, the Consulate General of Switzerland in Sydney, the Consulate General of Canada in Sydney and The Belgian Trade Office, their families or anyone else associated with this competition.
2. All information detailing how to enter this Competition forms part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions.
3. Entries should be submitted by via photocompetition.afsydney.com.au. The photos must be inspired by one of the 10 words selected below. Entries must be labelled with the entrant’s name and image files must be jpeg or tiff between 1MB and 2MB for DSLR Camera images and 2MB maximum for Smartphone images. Entrants should include their own name, address and telephone number. Entrants have to write a short statement that explains the link between their photograph and one of the French word and also a short bio of 100 words maximum each. Using Photoshop or editing software is allowed. The 10 finalists will have to provide the high resolution image file at 300 dpi.
4. All entries must be received by the advertised closing time and date.
5. Only one entry per person. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.
6. The Competition is divided into 4 separate stages:
•The submission period runs from 7 December 2015 to 7 February 2016.
•From 22 February to 7 March 2016, people can vote and comment in French or English the photograph they prefer among 50 top photographs chosen by the jury, after completing their name and email address. Only one vote and comment per person is permitted.
•The Ceremony Award is organised the 21 March 2016 at the Alliance Française de Sydney.
•The 10 best photographs are printed and exhibited from the 22 March 2016 to the 22 April 2016 at the Alliance Française de Sydney and will tour in the premises of the Dis Moi Dix Mots organisers.
7. The Competition is open to all photographers (both amateur and professional) and focuses on 10 French words: ‘Chafouin’, ‘Champagné’, ‘Dépanneur’, ’Dracher’, ‘Fada’, ‘Lumerotte’, ‘Poudrerie’, ‘Tap-tap’, ‘Ristrette’and ‘Vigousse’.
CHAFOUIN, INE

8. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published previously or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. The photographs must have been taken in the last 12 months. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.
9. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants confirm that each individual whose image is featured in the Competition entry has given consent for the use of his/her image in connection with this Competition and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Where an individual whose image is featured in a Competition entry is aged less than 18 years the entrant confirms that the parent or guardian of that individual has given the relevant consent.
10. The images must not show inappropriate or dangerous behaviour, or otherwise be obscene, defamatory, distasteful, offensive, or in breach of any applicable law or regulation, or in breach of any confidentiality obligations owed by them to third parties. If the Alliance Française de Sydney has reason to believe their entry is not their own work or otherwise breache these Terms and Conditions, then the Alliance Française de Sydney may not consider it and may disqualify it.
11. Copyright in all images submitted for this Competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of their providing the Competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to the Alliance Française de Sydney, the Consulate General of Switzerland in Sydney, the Consulate General of Canada in Sydney and The Belgian Trade Office in Sydney, to use, republish, edit and/or modify/feature any or all of the submitted images in any media including their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition. The 10 best photographs, decided by the jury, will be printed and exhibited at the Alliance Française de Sydney and will tour in the premises of the Dis Moi Dix Mots organisers.
12. By submitting an entry to the Competition, each entrant grants the Alliance Française de Sydney the right to use their name and county of residence for the sole purpose of identifying them as the author of their entry and/or as a winner of the Competition. Each entrant also grants the right to publish the short statement and biography.
13. By entering this Competition, participants and the audience who vote and comment, agree to receive emails and electronic newsletters from the Alliance Française de Sydney and partners (Consulate General of Switzerland in Sydney, Consulate General of Canada in Sydney, The Belgian Trade Office in Sydney, New Caledonia Tourism) which they can unsubscribe from at any time.
14. Australian law applies and the exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian Courts shall prevail.
15. When choosing the winner and runners up, the Judges will be looking for the most visually appealing and technically accomplished photograph that gives the best interpretation of the 10 French words (cf.7.). The winners will be notified by email after the closing date of the Competition.

19. All prizes are non transferable and there are no cash alternatives. We retain the right to substitute the prizes with another prize of similar value in the event that the original prize offered is not available.
20. Events may occur that render the Competition itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Alliance Française and accordingly the Alliance Française de Sydney may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Alliance Française de Sydney as a result thereof.
