The competition is open only to residents of Queensland, Queensland Government entities and legal entities whose registered office is in Queensland.
An entrant that submits an entry on behalf of an entity warrants that it has the authority to enter the competition on behalf of the entity.
Seqwater employees and their immediate family (including close relatives) and any person otherwise connected with Seqwater or the competition are ineligible to enter.
The competition period starts at [12.00am] AEST on 6/01/2017 and ends at [11.59pm] (AEST) on 05/03/2017.
To be eligible to enter the competition an entrant must:
Take a ‘selfie’ (a photograph of yourself) having fun while playing it safe (this is what we refer to as a ‘SAFEY’);
All SAFEYs must show entrants participating in safe behaviour;
Fill in the form and upload your SAFEY and the completed form to safey.com.au; and
Include 25 words or less that explain ‘how you’re playing it safe’.
An entrant may submit multiple entries, provided the conditions of entry are satisfied each time a photograph is submitted.
The entrant must be:
over 18 years of age; and
either:
the creator of the photograph; or
if the creator of the photograph is under the age of 18 years, the parent or guardian of the creator of the image.
The entrant warrants that he/she is the parent or guardian of any child or children depicted in the photograph.
By entering the photograph into this competition the entrant warrants to Seqwater that the above entry requirements have been met.
Seqwater accepts no responsibility for entries not received by the closing date for any reason whatsoever.
This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner.
The winner of a weekly prize will be the entrant whose entry is judged the best based on its creativity and ingenuity while also playing it safe.
To win a fortnightly prize, an entry must demonstrate creativity and ingenuity and:
demonstrate an activity that can be undertaken at a Seqwater site(s); and
demonstrate at least one of the Safety Tips found on the Seqwater Safey website [www.safey.com.au]
There will be one overall ‘SAFEY Star’ winner selected by Seqwater from a shortlist of entries voted for by the public through an online voting system. The SAFEY Star Prize will be awarded to the entrant whose entry is judged the best based on its creativity and ingenuity by Seqwater in its absolute discretion.
The SAFEY Star winner permits their name and image to appear in connection with Seqwater or the advertising or marketing thereof, and in any media whatsoever throughout the world, the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.
The winner of the SAFEY Star Prize must disclose any potential issues regarding use of their personal information in any photograph or other publications related to the competition that may generate negative publicity or bring Seqwater into public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule, or reflect unfavourably upon Seqwater.
Seqwater reserves its right to refuse to allow the SAFEY Star winner to take part in any or all aspects of the Safey Star Prize, if Seqwater determines, in its absolute discretion that a winner is not suitable to participate in any aspect of the SAFEY Star Prize.
As a condition of accepting the SAFEY Star Prize the winner may be required to sign a legal release and indemnity in a form determined by Seqwater in its absolute discretion.
Entries must not have been published previously and/or have been used to win prizes in any other competitions.
Seqwater reserves the right to disqualify any entrant submitting an entry which breaches these conditions or, in the opinion of the judges, includes objectionable content, including but not limited to profanity, nudity, potentially insulting, scandalous, inflammatory or defamatory images or language.
The prizes for the competition winners are as follows:
Weekly Prize – 8 x Hero4 GoPro [Hero4 Go Pro valued at $299] (one prize every competition week);
Fortnightly Prize – 4 x $1,000 BCF gift cards – valid for 12 months (one prize every 2 competition weeks);
“SAFEY Star Prize”:
1 x $5,000 BCF gift card – valid for 12 months; and
promotion of the ultimate SAFEY Star and their winning entry in Seqwater’s Easter safety campaign (concluding on 30 April 2017) by way of billboards, publications and media releases (media coverage is not guaranteed).
The prizes are as stated and are not transferable, cannot be bartered and are not redeemable for cash. Prizes are subject to availability and Seqwater reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
Entries will be judged by a panel of Seqwater representatives at the Seqwater head office at 117 Brisbane Street, Ipswich Queensland 4305. The winners’ names will be published on
www.safey.com.au, and Seqwater’s Facebook page by 5.00pm on the judgement date. The competition weeks are as follows:

The winners will be notified by the email address provided in their entry within 28 days of the competition end date. The winners’ names will be available on safey.com.au 28 days after the closing date of the competition.
If the winners cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, Seqwater reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the winners and select replacement winners.
All entries become and remain the property of Seqwater (including all intellectual property rights).
The entrant agrees that Seqwater may use or publish any material submitted as part of their entry for promotional purposes and, in addition, agrees to this material being shared on social media for the purpose of promoting Seqwater.
The entrant warrants to Seqwater that, where the material contains the intellectual property or personal information of any third person in respect of whom the entrant is not the parent or guardian, the entrant has obtained the consent of that third person for Seqwater to use or publish the material.
This competition will be conducted using social media which may be based outside Australia. Information posted, tagged or commented on, including photographs, may be transferred to this company’s server outside Australia. By entering this competition, you agree to this transfer.
This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter or any other social network.
Seqwater will deal with the entrant’s personal information in accordance with Seqwater’s privacy policy, which can be viewed at

The entrant indemnifies Seqwater against any claim, legal or otherwise, that may arise out of use or publication of the photograph.
Seqwater’s decision on all matters pertaining to this competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
Seqwater has the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change will be effective immediately upon posting to the website safey.com.au .
Seqwater reserves the right to cancel the competition if circumstances arise outside of its control.
Participation in this competition is taken to be acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by the laws of Queensland.
