80s movie night at Metro Arts

Three of the most iconic films of the 80s – Labyrinth, The Karate Kid and Stand By Me – are returning to the big screen for Kristian Fletcher’s stellar cult cinema season at Metro Arts. To celebrate the launch of the exciting 2018 line-up – with other classics like The Neverending Story, Clue, Pretty in Pink, Lost Boys, Poltergeist, Princess Bride and more, coming soon – we’re giving you the chance to win tickets to the ultimate 80s movie night featuring the films below!

Labyrinth – Screening on Friday at 6:45 pm and Saturday at 3:15 pm
Fifteen-year-old Sarah accidentally wishes her baby half-brother, Toby, away to the Goblin King Jareth who will keep him if Sarah does not complete his creature-filled labyrinth in thirteen hours.

The Karate Kid – on Friday at 8:30 pm and Saturday at 5:00 pm
Newly arrived in California from New Jersey, teenager Daniel (Ralph Macchio) almost immediately runs afoul of karate-trained high school bullies. He is rescued by Japanese janitor Miyagi (Noriyuki “Pat” Morita), who agrees to teach Daniel how to harness karate for good instead of brutality.

Stand By Me – on Friday at 10:30 pm and Saturday at 7:15 pm
After learning that a stranger has been accidentally killed near their rural homes, four Oregon boys decide to go see the body. On the way, Gordie Lachance (Wil Wheaton), Vern Tessio (Jerry O’Connell), Chris Chambers (River Phoenix) and Teddy Duchamp (Corey Feldman) encounter a mean junk man and a marsh full of leeches, as they also learn more about one another and their very different home lives. Just a lark at first, the boys’ adventure evolves into a defining event in their lives. Based on the Stephen King novella.

The Weekend Edition is giving its readers the chance to win one of ten double passes to a triple feature of Labyrinth, Karate Kid and Stand By Me at Metro Arts on Friday July 6 or Saturday July 7, 2018. Enter below for your chance to win.

Competition closes Wednesday June 27, 2018 at 11:59 pm. Winners will be contacted by mail.
