After the runaway success of their breakout single 'Hoops' in 2015, The Rubens were keen to explore the new sonic direction they had embarked upon and create music more in line with what 'Hoops' had achieved for the group.
“'Million Man’ in particular is like a song that represents every sound that we’ve got on this new record,” frontman Sam Margin says about the stylistic direction of 'Lo La Ru' in a recent scenestr interview.
