If the walls of the Port Office Hotel could talk, they would have one hell of a yarn to spin. The iconic Brisbane institution has seen more than its fair share of action over its 150 years – through riots, floods and political coups, the stunning heritage pub has maintained its post at the corner of Edward and Margaret streets like a beacon of good old-fashioned hospitality. In January of this year, the old girl took another hit in the form of a devastating fire that gutted the building – but true to form, she’s bounced back and been restored to her former glory (through a lot of hard yakka, to be sure).
