The 20th Lavazza Italian Film Festival celebrates Italian cinema and filmmakers at their very best, boasting a program packed with 26 of the best new Italian films from the past year as well as classic cinematic gems from decades past. Premieres and classics will collide in a mixture of titles that truly showcase the mastery of Italian cinema – there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Festival highlights include spectacular opening night selection The Champion, a special presentation of Edoardo De Angelis’ powerful and award-winning new film The Vice of Hope, a screening of the director’s cut of the much-talked-about Loro, plus the hotly anticipated world premiere of romantic drama Promised (starring Australia’s own Tina Arena and Paul Mercurio) and closing-night triumph Pavarotti – Ron Howard’s access-all-areas documentary about the world’s most famous tenor.
