Arc + Family, creators of modern geometric patterns on plant pots for home interiors, are offering a $500 voucher to one lucky Style reader.Husband and wife team Ben and Ash Keily run Arc + Family from their Morningside home, juggling the demands of raising two small children with the business of producing stylish pots and distributing them to retailers throughout Australia.
Recently they opened a shop front on oxford Street, Bulimba, with a showroom for their hand-painted and wallpaper-decorated pots as well as ones with an earthy concrete design and wire plantstands.
Handpainted and wallpaper motif pots can also be custom-ordered in any combination of 48 colours through their website where a lookbook page offers style inspiration.
The former highschool sweethearts followed individual creative pursuits at first – Ben in his family’s publishing business, Ash as a wedding make-up artist – before Arc + Family gave them a creative outlet they could pursue as a team.
Perfect for succulents and cacti or strong statement foliage plants such as fiddlewoods and monsteria, the pots have taken over the family’s lives.
“I often hear Ben jump out of bed at 3am and say ‘I’ll be back I have to draw this new design I’ve just come up with’,” Ash says on the Arc website.
“His brain is always ticking and together we are always coming up with new designs and products to add to our Arc fambam.
“Most nights you will find us in the studio painting ’til 1 or 2am, sipping on tea and listening to the radio. All our pots are touched-up by hand and take time to get perfect before sealing.”
