ENERGYAUSTRALIA® TARONGA ZOO® COMPETITION (“PROMOTION”)
Terms and Conditions
1. Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these terms and conditions.  Entry into the Promotion is taken to mean your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

2. Entry is open between 12.01am Australian Eastern Standard Time (“AEST”) on 1 October 2010 and 5.00pm Australian Eastern Daylight Saving Time (“AEDST”) on 14 January 2011 (“Promotion Period”).

3. The promoter is EnergyAustralia (ABN 67 505 337 385) of Level 12, 570 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000 (“Promoter”).

4. Entry is open to residents of New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria or Queensland who are residential Retail customers of the Promoter as at the Draw Date.  Directors, management and employees of the Promoter (and their immediate families) and any agencies, firms or companies associated with the Promotion are ineligible to enter.

5. To enter, you must, during the Promotion Period, correctly complete the online entry form (including your account number, name on the account, address and contact telephone number) at www.energy.com.au/zoocompetition.

6. Entrants who are not residential customers of the Promoter as at the Draw Date will be ineligible to win.

7. You may only enter once.

8. A random electronic prize draw will be conducted by Handling Matters Pty Ltd at Unit 1, 3 Green Street, Brookvale NSW 2100 (“Draw Location”) at 11.00am AEDST on 20 January 2011 (“Draw Date”).

9. The first four (4) eligible entrants drawn will each receive their choice of either:

    (a) a “Roar and Snore” experience at Taronga Zoo (Sydney) for up to four people valued at $1040 (maximum prize value); or

    (b) a “Zoofari Lodge” experience at Taronga Western Plains Zoo (Dubbo, NSW) for up to four people valued at $1236 (maximum prize value)

10. The “Roar and Snore” experience at Taronga Zoo (Sydney) includes:

    (a) 1 night accommodation in a ‘safari’ tent located at Taronga Zoo

    (b) “Up Close and Personal” animal experience

    (c) Zoo night Safari

    (d) Buffet dinner

    (e) Continental breakfast

    (f) Two behind the scenes tours for each person attending

The prize is for up to four people sharing accommodation which must include at least one adult. All children must be a minimum of 5 years old to attend. Bookings must be made in advance and are subject to availability.

11 The “Zoofari Lodge” experience at Taronga Western Plains Zoo (Dubbo, NSW) includes:

    (a) 2 day Taronga Western Plains Zoo admission

    (b) 1 night accommodation at Zoofari Lodge (Savannah Lodge) located at Taronga Western Plains Zoo

    (c) Three exclusive behind the scenes tours with a Zoofari Guide for each person attending   

    (d) Three course a-la-carte dinner (children under 15 years receive a 2 course meal from the children’s menu)

    (e) Full buffet breakfast

    (f) Standard bicycle hire for two days

    (g) 10% discount voucher for use at the Zoo Shop at Taronga Western Plains Zoo

The prize is for up to four people sharing accommodation which must include at least one adult. Bookings must be made in advance and are subject to availability.

12. The next three (3) eligible entrants drawn will each receive a VIP “Zoo Keeper for a Day” prize with Taronga Zoo’s Marine Mammals team valued at up to $800 (prize is for one person only). This prize is valid at Taronga Zoo on weekdays (excluding public holidays) only and children must be at least 16 years of age to participate. Bookings must be made four weeks in advance and are subject to availability.

Activities and inclusions of the prize are subject to the discretion of the Marine Mammal keeper and can be adapted at the sole discretion of the keeper to meet an individual’s capabilities.

13. The next ten (10) eligible entrants drawn will each receive a family zoo pass to either Taronga Zoo, Sydney valued at RRP $109.00 or Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo, valued at RRP $109.00. These passes allow entry for 2 adults and 2 children.

14. The winners will be notified by telephone within two days of the draw and by mail.  The winners’ details will be published in The Australian on 3 February 2011.

15. If any prize is unclaimed, a further random electronic prize draw will be conducted at the Draw Location at 11.00am AEST on 3 May 2011, in order to distribute the prize, subject to any written direction of any State or Territory lottery authority.  The winner of the unclaimed prize draw will be notified by telephone within two days of this draw and by mail.  The unclaimed prize winner’s details will be published in The Australian on 10 May 2011.

16. The total maximum prize value for the Promotion is RRP $8434.

17. The prize does not include any transportation costs to and from Taronga Zoo or Taronga Western Plains Zoo.  All other costs associated with taking and using the prize (including transportation costs) is the responsibility of the winner.

18. The prize will be awarded as a voucher issued by Taronga Zoo or Taronga Western Plains Zoo as applicable and will be valid for one year from the Draw Date. Any unused portion of the voucher will be forfeited and will not be awarded as cash.  Redemption of the voucher is subject to any terms and conditions of the issuer including any terms and conditions specified on the voucher or accompanying information. 19. A prize is not negotiable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.

20. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any variation in the value of a prize.

21. If the nominated prize is unavailable due to circumstances outside the control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right to supply an alternative prize of similar monetary value, subject to any written direction from State and Territory lottery authorities.

22. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected entries or for any technical difficulties or periods of unavailability of the entry mechanism during the Promotion Period which are outside the Promoter’s control.

23. Entries which are incomplete, incorrect or incomprehensible are not eligible to win.

24. No responsibility is accepted for entries not received by the Promoter. Entries will not be accepted if they are illegitimate, forged, manipulated or tampered with in any way. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any individual who is involved in any way in interfering or tampering with the conduct of this promotion.

25. The Promoter will not be held liable for any loss, damage or injury which results directly or indirectly from acceptance of the prize, except where such loss cannot be excluded by law or for wilful or negligent acts or omissions of the Promoter.

26. By accepting the prize, the winners agree to be contacted by the Promoter about the Promotion and to participate in the Promoter’s publicity activities as reasonably requested, including being interviewed and photographed by the Promoter for use by the Promoter in future marketing and promotional activities, without requiring payment by the Promoter or further consent from the winner.

27. Details from entries will be collected and used for the purpose of conducting this Promotion (including delivery of the prize), which may include disclosure to third parties (including Taronga Zoo, Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Handling Matters Pty Ltd and State and Territory lottery authorities).  By entering this Promotion, entrants consent to the use of this information as described, and agree that the Promoter may use this information for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes.  Entrants should direct any request to access, update or correct information to the Promoter.
