CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
BRITA Water Filters Great Taste, Less Waste, Better Planet Promotion
1. Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these Conditions of Entry. Entry into this promotion is deemed
acceptance of these Conditions of Entry.
2. Entry is only open to Australian residents who purchase a specially marked BRITA Water Filter System or BRITA
MAXTRA Filter pack from an authorised outlet in Australia during the promotional period. Employees and their
immediate families of the Promoter and their agencies associated with this promotion are ineligible to enter.
3. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the
entry process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry.
4. The promotion commences at 00:01am AESST on 1st October 2010 and closes at 5.00pm AESST on 21st January
2011.
5. To enter the promotion entrants must purchase a BRITA product displaying a “BRITA Water Filters Great Taste, Less
Waste, Better Planet Promotion on the face of the product and which product may be a BRITA Water Filter System or
a BRITA MAXTRA Filter pack, from an authorised outlet in Australia during the promotional period. Entrants can
then enter the draw by visiting www.brita.com.au/electroluxpromo and completing and submitting the online entry
form during the promotional period. The unique purchase receipt reference number and product barcode number are
required to be entered on the entry form.
6. Entry will not be available through any other means. Each eligible entrant must retain and produce for inspection by
the Promoter the purchase receipt evidencing the purchase by the entrant of a qualifying product containing the
winning receipt number in order to claim the prize. Failure to provide this receipt to the Promoter upon request will
result in an invalid entry (and, at the Promoter’s discretion, result in all of the entrant’s entries being declared invalid).
7. Multiple entries will be accepted, but each entry must originate from a separate product purchase. Each individual
can enter as many times as they want with a different purchase each time. Incorrect, incomplete or incomprehensible
entries (as determined by the Promoter) will be deemed invalid. The Promoter takes no responsibility for lost, late or
misdirected entries and such entries may be deemed invalid at the Promoter’s discretion. Each eligible entrant must
retain and produce for inspection by the Promoter the receipt containing the winning product purchase in order to
claim the prize. Failure to provide these to the Promoter upon request will result in an invalid entry (and, at the
Promoter’s discretion, in all of the entrant’s entries being invalid).
8. Entries will be deemed to be accepted at the time of receipt and not at the time of transmission. Any form of
automated entry using the Internet or any other device or software is invalid.
9. The prize draw will take place at BRITA Water Filter System Distributors P/L, 6/22 Narabang Way, Belrose, NSW on
Tuesday the 31st January 2011, at 11.00 am via electronic random draw. The major prize winners will be notified by
telephone on the day of the draw and in writing. The major prize winners’ names and locality will be published in The
Australian on Saturday 5th February 2011. Judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
10. Prize not redeemable for cash and must be claimed by 8th May 2011.
11. If any prize is unclaimed by this date, a redraw will take place 11th May 2011 at 11.00 am at BRITA Water Filter
System Distributors P/L, 6/22 Narabang Way, Belrose, NSW. The winner of this re-draw will be published in The
Australian Saturday 14th May 2011. Winners will be notified in writing.
12. There are 5 major prizes each comprising an Electrolux Eco-Friendly fridge valued at $2,639 AUD each (estimated
current marketing value).
13. Major Prize will be dispatched to the winner within 28 days of the draw date.
14. The maximum total major prize pool is valued up to $13,195 (inc GST) (estimated current market value).
15. Prizes will be drawn via electronic random draw and will be awarded to the first five eligible entries drawn. Prizes are
not transferable or exchangeable for other goods or services and cannot be taken as cash. The Promoter accepts no
responsibility for any variation in prize value.
16. The value of the prizes is accurate and based upon the recommended retail prices of the prizes at the date of
printing. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the prize after that date. Prizes are
not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
17. Entrants can only enter in their own name. The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of residency at the
nominated prize delivery address and identification (to the Promoter’s satisfaction in its discretion) before issuing the
prize. The judge’s decision to disqualify an entry is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
18. All ancillary costs or accessories not expressly included are the responsibility of the winner. Prize excludes
comprehensive insurance which is the responsibility of the winner. Delivery of the prize is subject to availability of the
prize. In the event that any prize becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control, the
Promoter reserves the right to provide an alternative prize to the same value as the original prize, subject to any
applicable laws or written directions made under applicable legislation.
19. The Promoter and their related bodies corporate, their officers, employees and agents shall not be liable for any loss
or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for personal
injury which is suffered or sustained as a result of taking the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded
by law. The Promoter and its related bodies corporate make no warranties and accept no liability in relation to the
prize, its condition or fitness for any purpose. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required
to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion. Tax implications may arise
from the receipt or use of a prize. Independent financial advice should be sought.
20. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for
tampering with the entry process or for submitting an entry which is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry,
or if the entrant is engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper
conduct of the promotion. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an
offender are reserved.
21. The Promoter will not be responsible for any incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete information communicated in the
course of, or in connection with, this promotion if the deficiency is occasioned by any cause outside the reasonable
control of the Promoter.
22. All entries become and remain the property of the Promoter. The Promoter collects personal information about
entrants to include entrants in the promotion and where appropriate award prizes. If the information requested is not
provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion. By participating in the promotion, each entrant agrees that
the Promoter may also use the information to assist the Promoter in improving goods and services and to contact
entrants in the future with special offers via any medium including mail and commercial electronic messages. The
promoter may use each winner’s name and image in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity
purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant. The Promoter may share
information with its related companies who may contact entrants with special offers. The Promoter may also share
information with other persons or entities that assist the Promoter in running promotions or with other companies who
provide prizes for promotions. By entering the promotion, each entrant agrees that their personal information may be
used in the manner described above and also agrees that the Promoter may disclose entrants’ personal information
to State and Territory lottery departments and that the winner's name and locality will be published as required under
the relevant lottery legislation. A request to access, update or correct any personal information should be directed to
the Promoter at the address stated below.
