How to enter
To enter, entrants must:
1.1 Read and accept these terms and conditions;
1.2 Join the Beach Line through the Facebook application (It is free
www.behindthebid.com);
1.3 By joining the beach line, you are automatically eligible for the major prize draw.
1.4 In order to be eligible for the weekly prize draws and monthly prize draws entrants must update their ‘chant’ each week.
1.5 The medal system can earn entrants more entries into the major prize draw – click to find out more about the medals system.
Variables
2.1 The competition is open to residents of Australia only.
2.2 Start Date: 10:00am May 2, 2011
2.3 Closing date: 12:00pm November 1, 2011
2.4 The name of the winners will appear on

2.5 Employees of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Bid Ltd., SeaFM and Halfnine Media and their immediate family members are not eligible for prizes.
2.6 Entrants may only enter as an individual (not as an organisation) and may only register for the competition once.
2.7 Entrants do not need to be 18 years of age or over. However, persons under the age of 18 years are subject to the terms of paragraph 4 of these terms and conditions.
Prizes
3.1 There will be five (5) weekly prize winners (“Weekly Winners”) selected each week between the Start Date and the Closing Date ("Duration") of the competition. Each of the Weekly Winners will receive a “Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games prize pack” (“Weekly Prize”) comprising merchandise. Valued at approx $20 each.
3.2 There will be one (1) monthly prize winner (“Monthly Winners”) selected in each month for the Duration of the competition. The Monthly Winners will receive an “Apple Ipad” (“Monthly Prize”) Valued at approx $500 each.
3.3 There will be one (1) major prize winner (“Major Prize Winner”). The Major Prize Winner will receive an “Ultimate Queensland Experience” travel voucher from Sunlover Holidays operated by AOT Holidays Ltd ABN 24 113 463 415 (“Major Prize”) valued at $5000.
The total value of the Prize Pool is estimated to be AUD $10,600
3.4 The value of all prize items are estimated by the Promoter and are inclusive of GST. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any variations in item values. The prizes are not transferable in whole or in part and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash. In the event that any prize item is unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize item of similar value. Any taxes (other than GST, if any) which may be payable as a consequence of the Winner receiving the prize are the sole responsibility of the Winner.
3.5 Weekly Winners will be announced on the Site each Friday commencing 6 May 2011 and ending 28 October 2011. Monthly Winners will be announced on the Site the last Friday of each month, commencing 27 May 2011 and ending 28 October 2011. The Major Prize Winner will be announced on the Site at 2:00pm on 1 November 2011.
3.6 It is the responsibility of the Entrant to notify the Promoter of any change of contact details over the Duration of the competition.
Other conditions of travel and prize acceptance
4.1 If the Major Prize Winner, is under 18 years of age they must nominate a parent or guardian as their guest who bears all responsibility for the Major Prize Winner for the duration of, and in connection with, the Major Prize.
4.2 The Major Prize can only be used for holiday bookings made on properties that are situated in Queensland via SL Holidays. Holiday Ideas are available at
www.sunloverholidays.com 4.3 Any part of a Prize that is not taken or redeemed for any reason is forfeited. A Prize cannot be exchanged for other goods, or travel or accommodation at other destinations. No compensation will be payable if the Major Prize Winner or their guest are unable to use the Prize or any component thereof prior to 1 November 2012 and travel must be completed by that date.
4.4 The Prizes are subject to the standard terms and conditions of the respective products and services, which constitute the Prizes. It is a condition of accepting the Major Prize that the Major Prize Winner and their guest must comply with all the conditions of use relating to the Major Prize and its components and any additional terms and conditions stipulated by individual prize suppliers.
4.5 The Major Prize Winner and their guest are responsible for all other expenses including spending money, laundry charges, incidentals, gratuities, travel insurance, excess baggage and all other ancillary costs. Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect the Major Prize Winner and their guest against additional costs, which may be incurred in some unforeseen circumstances.
4.6 The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality/suitability/merchantability of any of the goods/services offered as prizes and is not responsible for the repair or replacement of any prize;
4.7 The Promoter accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to prizes in transit;
4.8 The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost or misdirected registrations; and;
4.9 The Promoter is not liable, to the extent permitted by law, for any loss suffered or sustained, to person or property and including, but not limited to, consequential damages (including economic loss) by reason of any:
(a) act or omission, deliberate or negligent, whether by the Promoter, its servants or agents or any third party, in connection with the use of the Site and any arrangement for supply, or the supply, of any goods or services by any person to the prize winners and, where applicable, to any family/persons accompanying the Major Prize Winner;
(b) problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received by the Promoter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this competition; and
(c) injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prizes.
Administration
5.1 If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including for reasons such as infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to:
(a) disqualify any individual who engages in such conduct; and
(b) cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.
5.2 The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to, or alteration of, entries.

7.1 By participating, entrants agree to be bound by the following terms. Those who do not, may be banned or prevented from having further access to the Site and ineligible for prize draws:
(a) do represent your own views and not impersonate or falsely represent any other person
(b) do not be abusive, harass or threaten others
(c) do not make defamatory or libellous comments
(d) do not use insulting, provocative or hateful language
(e) do not use obscene or offensive language
(f) do not post material that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
(g) do not promote commercial interests in your posts
(h) do not include internet addresses or links to websites, or any email addresses in your posts
(i) do protect your personal privacy and that of others by not including personal information of either yourself or of others in your posts to the wall (for example, names, email addresses, private addresses or phone numbers)
7.2 The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these terms and conditions or engaged in any unlawful or improper conduct, calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the competition. The Promoter reserves the right to recover damages or other compesnation from the individual(s) concerned.
