• This Competition is conducted by the State of Queensland through the Department of the Premier and Cabinet (“the State”).
• Information on how to enter and the prizes form part of these Terms and Conditions of Entry (“Terms and Conditions”). By submitting a completed “The Big Jubilee Party” official entry form the Entrant accepts the Terms and Conditions.
• Entry is free and open to all residents of Queensland aged 16 years and over (“the Entrants”). Employees or their immediate families (spouse whether married or de facto, siblings including stepsiblings, children including stepchildren, parents including step-parents) of the Department of the Premier and Cabinet are not eligible to enter.
• The Competition commences at 9.00am on Wednesday 16 May 2012. Entries close at 11.59pm on Thursday 7 June 2012 (“the Closing Date”).
• To enter the Competition, Entrants must before the Closing Date, submit a completed “The Big Jubilee Party” official entry form (“the Entry”) by fax (07) 3224 4065 or by email to
diamondjubilee@premiers.qld.gov.au.
• Any Entry received after the Closing Date will be deemed invalid. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost, delayed or misdirected Entries.
• The Entrant must host an event on Monday 11 June 2012. The State reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for submitting an entry which is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry.
• Entries which are incomplete or illegible are invalid.
• It is the Entrant’s responsibility to ensure that their contact details are correct at the time of entry.
• The State’s decision in relation to any aspect of the Competition is final and binding on every person who enters.
• Entrants must not enter more than once.
• The Competition draw will take place at 100 George Street, Brisbane, at 10.00am on Friday 8 June 2012. Winners will be selected at random. The State’s decision on the winner of the Competition is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
• The winners will be notified by telephone and the winners’ names will be published on the Diamond Jubilee website (
www.diamondjubilee.qld.gov.au).
• The first valid entry drawn (“Winner”) will win a London travel package (“Major Prize”) including :
- return economy class airfares flying Qantas for four (4) people from Brisbane to London (including prepaid taxes)
- five (5) nights accommodation in one room with two double beds or one double bed and two single beds (subject to availability)
- a guided ‘Royal London’ sightseeing tour for four (4) people
- return airport transfers for four (4) people by seat in coach.
• The value of the Major Prize is up to $16,000 depending on time of travel.
• The Winner is to nominate four (4) people who agree to receive the Major Prize in accordance with the Terms and Conditions.
• The second valid entry randomly drawn (“Runner-up”) will win an official Diamond Jubilee memorabilia pack to the value of $300 (“Minor Prize”).
Travel associated with the Major Prize must occur between 1 September 2012 and 1 September 2013. Travel blockouts apply during school holidays and peak travel periods. Frequent Flyer points will not be accrued with the booking.
• The Major Prize does not include travel to and from Brisbane, travel insurance, passports, visas, meals, taxes (other than those included in the Major Prize), ancillary costs, tours (other than those included in the Major Prize), ground transportation, airport transfers (other than those included in the Major Prize) or any other costs of a personal nature not stated.
• Compliance with any health or government requirements are the responsibility of the Winner and their companion. Travel is subject to the General Conditions of Carriage of the applicable airline. It is the responsibility of the Winner to check with the Department of Foreign Affairs regarding possible Travel Warnings to a Country or Countries they and their Travel companion will be travelling to.
• Travel associated with the Major Prize is subject to availability at the time of booking. Flights are subject to capacity control, and availability may be limited particularly around peak times such as school holidays. The Winner and their companions will not accrue Frequent Flyer points on the prize travel. Upgrades cannot be purchased using Winner's Frequent Flyer points.
• Airline tickets for the Major Prize must be redeemed at the same time, for the same flights, travelling to and from the same locations. If the Winner is unable to use four (4) tickets at the same time they will forfeit the additional ticket and no compensation will be given in lieu. Any changes or costs incurred once the tickets have been issued will be the sole responsibility of the Winner.
• Any change in the value of any prize occurring between the publishing date and date the prize is claimed is not the responsibility of the State.
• Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable, and cannot be taken as cash.
• Prizes will be posted to the address the Entrant registered with.
• The State does not make any representations about the quality or functionality of any prize, nor is it endorsing the prizes or any party associated with the prizes.
• If this Competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the State, the State reserves the right in its sole discretion to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition.
• To the full extent permitted by law, the State is not liable for any injury, damages, expenses or loss whatsoever (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) to persons or property by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the State, or its officers and agents in connection with participation in the Competition or the arrangements for supply, or the supply, of any prizes to the winners of the Competition.
• The State reserves the right to amend the Terms and Conditions at any time until the Closing Date.
• No person is entitled to claim compensation or loss from the State for any matter arising out of the Competition, including but not limited to a failure by the State to comply with the Terms and Conditions.
• Each Entrant acknowledges and agrees that:
a) their personal information will be collected by the State for the purpose of coordinating/ administering the Competition and for notifying Entrants of upcoming events, initiatives and programs administered by the Department; and
b) if the Entrant wins a prize, the Entrant consents to the State disclosing their name in connection with the Competition in promotional materials.
• The Terms and Conditions will be governed by the laws of Queensland.
