5 x Double Passes to Australia’s Silent Film Festival (Sydney only)

Score some movie magic by revisiting some of Charlie Chaplin’s classic works.


In January, Australia’s Silent Film Festival will run a special tribute to The Birth of the Iconic Tramp: Charlie Chaplin and his Genius, 1914-1917. This event runs over the four Sundays of January and will feature three sessions daily, each of approximately an hour’s duration. These sessions – which feature 24 classic comedy shorts from his start at the Keystone Studio and his treasures at the Essanay and Mutual Studios – trace the rise of one of the world’s greatest cultural artists. The festival will screen digital presentations of the restored films with soundtracks.

This tribute will take place at the NSW State Library’s Metcalfe Auditorium on Macquarie Street, Sydney, on January 6, 13, 20 and 27, with three sessions at 12.30-1.30pm; 1.45-2.45pm; and 3-4pm.
