While there's more than enough to keep you occupied all month, our picks of the bunch are: space techno pioneer Nicolas Jaar; the 2001: A Space Odyssey soundtrack being performed live by the Sydney Philharmonic; outré-pop exponents Dirty Projectors; falsetto crooner Perfume Genius; the free Daptone label retrospective in the Domain on opening night; and the ever-mercurial and wise pairing of David Byrne and St Vincent.
We would add one more to the mix though: Australian indie heroes Dappled Cities journeying back through a decade's worth of their own symphonic rock with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and Choir in the Sydney Town Hall. It's happening on January 22 and
we have a double pass to give away. Send your contact details here to enter.Email to: giveaways@smithjournal.com.au
