Free ID Tags
The National Pet Register is a pet identification and recovery service. It's the largest Australia-wide pet ID service operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Please Note: If you have recently had your pet microchipped or recently purchased a pet that was already microchipped do not sign up for a free tag as when we register your pets microchip or change of ownership a tag will be sent to you as part of the registration process. If you have had a National Pet Register tag in the past and can't remember your log in details, please contact our office on 1300 734 738, as creating a new record may duplicate your existing record if you do indeed already have one.

I declare that the information I will submit to this website is true and correct and that the person named as the owner is the legal owner of the animal. I also accept that by completing the forms on this website I am giving permission for my contact details to be made available to any person who contacts the National Pet Register with the tag or microchip number/s of the animal/s I submit to this website for the purpose of being reunited with my pet, should it become lost.
This service is only available to Australian residents.
If you lose your tag, you can always get another one for a small charge of $5, please do not recycle old tags.
The tag issued to you carries a unique registration number, plus the 1300 number for your pet's finder to call. A finder of your lost pet will call the National Pet Register and quote the registration number and we will advise them of your contact details. Once you have registered we will send your tags in the mail within 21 days.
Please note that tag registration and microchip registration with the National Pet Register is not the same as council registration. This will have to be done separately. Please contact your local council for more information.
