AUSTRALIA'S only touring regional music festival is headed back to the fields of Maitland for its 10th year.

Regional musical odyssey Groovin The Moo (GTM) is back and will bring national and international talent to the Hunter on Saturday, April 26, when bands take to the stages at the Maitland Showground in Blomfield Street.

The 2014 festival line-up includes acts from across the country as well as indie chart-topping groups from overseas.

A decade since the inaugural festival, GTM 2014 at Maitland is set to be one of the best yet.

The GTM program tours acts from all genres which its organisers believe reflect the importance of diversity to the festival.

All GTM events, Maitland, Oakbank, Canberra, Bendigo, Townsville and Bunbury, are licensed and all ages.

They have sold out consistently for past four years and attracted more than 75,000 people in total Australia-wide.

GTM specialises in curating and touring internationally, nationally and locally recognised artists in a landscape that is slightly off the beaten touring track.

This year's Maitland artists include Architecture In Helsinki, US band Cults, UK's Disclosure and Dizzee Rascal, Australia's own Illy, The Jezabels, The Jungle Giants, Karnivool, Kingswood, The Kite String Tangle, The Naked And Famous, Parkway Drive, Peking Duk, The Presets, Robert Delong, Thundamentals, Violent Soho with headlining act and winner of the top spot on Triple J's latest Hottest 100 music chart, Vance Joy.

This year's festival will be accompanied by its first art exhibition called Groovin, which runs until May 25 at the Maitland Regional Art Gallery, 230 High Street.

Groovin is a multi-media exhibition that features graphics, objects, video, music, and writings from the GTM archives that unfolds over two rooms at the gallery.

Entry to the exhibition is free.

Tickets to the festival cost $99.90 plus a booking fee and can be purchased at gtm.net.au or moshtix.com.au or by calling 1300 438 849.
