After secretly searching for him for decades, Philomena meets Martin Sixsmith (Steve Coogan), a world-weary BBC journalist and former government advisor, as cynical as Philomena is trusting. Martin agrees to take on Philomena’s story as a “human interest” feature for a daily newspaper.
Together they embark on a journey of discovery, revealing the extraordinary life of Philomena’s son whilst forming an unexpectedly close bond. Warm, witty and compassionate, and featuring a powerhouse performance from Judi Dench, Philomena is not to be missed.
