QUEEN COLE: Beccy Cole will play at Wests Nelson Bay Diggers on Saturday, August 16.
ALMOST two years to the day since she last performed at Wests Nelson Bay Diggers, country music star Beccy Cole will return for a high-energy live show on Saturday, August 16.
Cole will be joined on the Nelson Bay stage by acclaimed jazz and cabaret performer Libby O'Donovan.
The pair will play some of Cole's most well-known tracks off her best-of album, Beccy's Biggest Hits, which has been described as a country music version of a box of Cadbury favourites.
Cole was not short on tracks to add to the album, having remained at the forefront of Australian country music since winning Toyota Star Maker in 1993.
Her persistence and dedication to Australian country music has meant she is no stranger to the winner's podium, having taken out nine Golden Guitars and two entertainer of the year awards.
She has won three gold records, 13 No. 1 singles and her sixth studio album, Songs and Pictures, was nominated for best country album at the 2012 ARIA Awards.
In a career that began more than 20 years ago as a teen singing with her mum, Carole Sturtzel, and busking in Tamworth with Kasey Chambers, Cole has toured with Willie Nelson, Kenny Rogers, Glenn Campbell and Don McLean.
She has been a regular on Australian television, performed with The Wiggles and has been set in wax in a museum.
You can catch Cole at Wests Nelson Bay Diggers on August 16 from 8pm.
Tickets, available from ProTicket or by phoning 4984 8300, cost $35 for club members and $40 for non-members.
The Examiner has one double pass to give away to the August 16 show.
To win, send your name and contact details in an email titled "Beccy" to
