1.   Instructions on how to enter, prize details and other information contained within any promotional advertisements form part of these terms and conditions.

2.   The “Grease Promotion” is open to all residents of Western Australia aged 18 years or older.

3.   Employees of the Promoters, their subsidiaries, their advertising agencies, participating newsagents & resellers of The West Australian and The Weekend West newspapers, and their immediate families are ineligible to enter. Immediate family includes spouse, defacto spouse, parent, natural or adopted child or sibling living under the same roof.

4.   The competition commences on Monday, 30 June, 2014 and concludes on 5pm Thursday, 17 July, 2014.5.   To enter the “Grease Promotion” you must obtain the daily codeword found in The West Australian/The Weekend West. Enter your details and daily codeword online at www.thewest.com.au/greaseistheword. Each daily codeword entry must be submitted by 5pm daily to be a valid entry.

6.   One (1) major prize winner will be drawn at random Friday, 18 June, 2014. The winner will receive a Virgin Australia Holiday voucher including two return Virgin saver fare economy flights from Perth to Los Angeles, five nights’ accommodation in a 3 star or above hotel in Los Angeles. The winner will be notified by phone.

7.   Twenty (20) runners up prize winners will be drawn at random on Friday, 18 June, 2014. The runners up will receive two A Reserve tickets to Grease for Wednesday, 23 July, 2014 at Crown Theatre, Perth. The runners up will be notified by email and prizes will require collection from The West Australian offices in Osborne Park. If the runner up would like the prize to be posted, the Promoter is not responsible for lost, delayed mail delivery, mid-delivery or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical or electronic.

8.   The major prize winner must travel between August 2014 and June 2015 (block out periods apply for school and public holidays including 10 December 2014 - 20 January 2015).

9.    Major prize booking must be made and confirmed at least 6 weeks prior to intended travel. Once booking is confirmed, standard fees and any other supplier fees and surcharges, where applicable, will apply for any amendments or cancellation of booking.

10.    Prize is only valid subject to ACMN approval for payment to Virgin Australia Holidays.

11.    In the event your prize is not utilised within the validity period, no cash, credit or extension will be provided.

12.    All other expenses become the responsibility of the winner (and their companions) including but not limited to spending money, transfers, meals (other than those specified), drinks (other than those specified), incidentals, mini-bar, laundry, room service, telephone calls, activities, taxes (including departure taxes), energy surcharges, gratuities, services charges, passports, travel insurance, pre and post accommodation, optional activities or excursions and all other ancillary costs.

13.   The winner (and their travelling companion) is also responsible for having a current passport or obtaining a current passport before travelling and any other documentation or immunizations that may be required in order to take the voucher. The winner (and their travelling companion) is also responsible for obtaining any visas that may be required and for ensuring that they have travel insurance. A credit card imprint or cash deposit may be required from the winner at check-in to the hotel, for all incidental charges.

14.    Virgin Australia Holidays shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) as a result of taking or utilizing any voucher, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

15.    Virgin Australia Holidays accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the voucher winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought.

16.    Virgin Australia Holidays is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the entrant or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this incentive scheme competition), or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications, internet access, network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.

17.   All prizes must be taken as stated and is not exchangeable and not redeemable for cash.

18.   The Promoters reserve the right to disqualify any individual who the promoters believes have breached any of these terms and conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct. The Promoters have legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender.

19.   The Promoters’ decision on all matters related to this competition is final and cannot be contested. No correspondence will be entered into. The Promoters’ reserve the right to limit entry or amend rules if considered necessary without notice.

20.   You consent to the use by West Australian Newspapers Limited  and related corporations (as defined by the Corporations Act 2001) of Your details and acknowledge that West Australian Newspapers and related corporations, may, at their discretion disclose and use those details for the purpose of providing goods or services, communicating with subscribers, planning, research, product and business development and sales, the promotion and marketing (whether targeted, direct or indirect) of their businesses, services or products or those of a third party which it believes may be of benefit to them. The details will also be used to investigate complaints, as required or permitted by any law, to enable West Australian Newspapers and related corporations to perform its obligations under this or any other agreement and to ensure that a subscriber performs their obligations under this or any other agreement.
