On offer this week – your chance to win tickets for you and three friends to see the beautiful and amazing performance Flourish at the Playhouse, QPAC!

A mixed bill program featuring four dance works detailed below -

1.Serenade, one of legendary choreographer George Balanchine's earliest works, is a milestone in the history of dance. This iconic work re-shaped classical ballet into poetic geometry with a drifting, swirling ensemble, awash with beauty and bathed in light.

Artistic Director Li Cunxin was keen was keen to introduce one of Balanchine’s most celebrated works to the Company’s repertoire, and our dancers are ideally suited to his graceful, lyrical style.

2.Nils Christe's Short Dialogues is an intensely involving piece offering a tantalising, sometimes unsettling, glimpse into three couples’ relationships.

Set to Philip Glass' Concerto for Violin and Orchestra.
This piece was originally choreographed on Queensland Ballet’s Principal dancers in 2011. Nils is returning to Brisbane to remount this piece.

3.Nicolo Fonte's Bolero set to the famous rhythm of Ravel's rising orchestral music.

Features precise lines that require intense athleticism.
Fonte concentrates on an abstract contemporary movement vocabulary that amalgamates classical ballet, spiralling partnering and complex ensemble work.
La Esmeralda grand pas de deux choreographed by Ben Stevenson, a thrilling showpiece of bravura technique. This piece is a famous classical pas de deux, it is Li Cunxin’s way of reminding the audience of ballet’s remarkable heritage.
