POWERFUL: Queen - It's a Kind of Magic will head to Newcastle next month.
IT HAS been hailed as the closest thing you will get to an authentic Queen concert these days and it is heading to Newcastle in September.
It's A Kinda Magic has won the hearts of Queen fans from around the world.
Even those who were close to the original 1970s Freddie Mercury-led band have given It's A Kinda Magic the nod of approval.
Peter Freestone, Mercury's former personal assistant, has said he had not seen another show in the world that does it better than the cast behind It's A Kinda Magic.
The show recreates Queen's 1986 world tour concert, featuring more than 20 of the band's greatest hits including We Will Rock You, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are the Champions and Fat-Bottomed Girls.
Painstaking detail was paid to all the music from the iconic voice of Mercury, to Brian May's guitar solos and the rock harmonies.
Canadian performer and multi-instrumentalist Giles Taylor takes on the role as Mercury.
"Freddie was known for his powerful voice and vocal range, and had a very distinct character in general, so emulating him is quite a challenge," Taylor said.
"But those details need to be just right for a show of this magnitude.
