See the fabulous Delltones at Soldiers Point Bowling Club

STILL BOPPING: The Delltones will appear at Soldiers Point Bowling Club on October 11.

AUSTRALIAN music legends The Delltones were told back in 1958 "don't give up your day job, this music is not going to last".

Today, The Delltones are still touring and will pit stop for a one-night only show at Soldiers Point Bowling Club on Saturday, October 11.

The Delltones have been entertaining audiences, playing, celebrating and elevating rock'n'roll for 56 years.

They remain one of the most consistent live entertainers in Australia with arguably the longest performing and recording history for a vocal harmony band with an original member.

Founding member and perhaps the most recognisable Delltone, bassist Ian "Peewee" Wilson, has kept the band alive from the original vocal quartet days through to the 1980s transition into a five-piece vocal band.

The transformation led to the band's resurgence and the chart-topping revival album Bop Til Ya Drop.

Today, The Delltones have come full circle and returned to their roots as a four-part harmony band.

Tickets to the Soldiers Point Bowling Club show, which begins at 8.30pm, cost $39.50.

They are available from the club, by phoning 4982 7173 or at soldierspointbc.com.au.

The Examiner has four double passes to give away to the show.

Additionally, winners of the double passes will receive a Delltones CD.

To win, send your name and contact details in an email titled "Peewee" to ewatts@fairfaxmedia.com.au.

The winners will be notified by 5pm on Wednesday, October 8.
Go for it, give it a tweet!
