Two lucky RACQ members who book and pay a deposit on a holiday with RACQ Travel by the end of January 2015 will have the chance to win two, one-way gold service tickets on The Ghan or Indian Pacific, including flights, valued at up to $7,042. The Ghan has been traversing the heart of Australia, from the Red Centre to the Top End, since 1929 while the Indian Pacific (as the name suggests) journeys from the Indian Ocean on the west to the Pacific Ocean on the east. Both journeys offer a travel experience unlike any other, and the opportunity to explore Australia’s iconic outback in luxurious comfort.

Competition Terms and Conditions: chance to win 4 x one way Gold Service tickets on The Ghan or Indian Pacific + flights
This competition is a promotion run by The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland Limited ABN 72 009 660 575 (“Promoter”).
Information on prizes and how to enter form part of these terms and conditions. Entries not completed in accordance with these terms are ineligible. Participation in this competition constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
The competition is open to residents of Queensland who are over the age of 18 years of age, and who are current RACQ members at the time the competition is drawn.
Non-members of RACQ, employees and their immediate families of the Promoter, related entities and agents of the Promoter are ineligible to enter.
The competition commences 9am (EST), 1 December 2014 and closes 5pm (EST), 31 January 2015. The competition will be drawn at 10am (EST), 6 February 2015 at RACQ Head Office, Marketing Department, 2649 Logan Road, Eight Mile Plains 4113.
To enter, entrants must book & pay a deposit on a twin share holiday by 31 January 2015 and complete the entry form provided with their full name, email address, contact phone number and membership number.
Only one entry per entrant is permitted and only one prize will be awarded to each of the winners.
There will be 2 winners in this competition that will be chosen at random from all eligible entries received. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
The winners will each receive:
Two Qantas return economy flights departing from and returning to Brisbane; and
The choice between two one-way Gold Service tickets on The Ghan for 3 days/2 nights departing Adelaide, arriving Darwin or vice versa valued at $6,722; or
Two one-way Gold Service tickets on the Indian Pacific for 4 days/3 nights departing Perth, arriving Sydney or vice versa valued at $7,042
Each prize includes accommodation on-board both route options is a gold twin berth cabin with compact en suite facilities. Both route options include all on-board meals with regional menus, standard alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, off train excursions and an increased luggage allowance from 1 x 25kgs checked in luggage plus 1 x 10kgs carry-on luggage per person to 2 x 25kgs checked in luggage plus 1 x 10kgs carry-on luggage per person
Each prize is valid for travel prior to 30 June 2015. Prize components may alter at the discretion of the Promoter. The total Prize value for each winner is up to $7,042 depending on choice of train chosen. The total prize value of the two individual prizes is up to $14,084.  The prizes are subject to availability at the time of booking and must be booked by the Promoter within 60 days of travel. The winners will be required to present their winner’s letter, provided to them by RACQ, when booking. If for any reason the prizes are not taken by 30 June 2015, the prizes will be forfeited. Blackout dates apply for The Ghan in June 2015.
The winners will be notified by telephone or email using the telephone number and email address provided by the winners at the time they enter the competition.
If the competition winners are unable to be contacted within one week of the draw a redraw will occur. In the event that a redraw is required it will be held at 10am (EST), 13 February 2015 at RACQ, Marketing Department, 2649 Logan Road, Eight Mile Plains 4113 and the redraw winners will be notified by phone or email using the telephone number and email address they provide when they enter the competition.
Should the winners change their nominated travel dates after booking, the winners shall be responsible for any additional costs or change fees associated.
The Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
Insurance, spending money and all other ancillary costs are the responsibility of the winners.
The Prizes are subject to availability at the time of booking.
All entries become the property of the Promoter. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries.
The information that entrants provide will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting the competition, and to periodically keep entrants informed about the goods and services provided by the Promoter, related entities and its service providers. By entering this competition entrants consent to the use of their contact details for the purposes described in this clause. The Promoter may use or disclose entrant’s personal information to related entities or other appropriate third parties in accordance with its privacy policy.
If for any reason this competition is not capable of being conducted by the Promoter as intended, whether because of computer virus, mobile phone failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter which in the Promoter’s opinion affects the administration of the competition, security, fairness or integrity, the Promoter may in its sole discretion, cancel, modify or suspend the competition, subject to the approval of the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation  in Queensland as may be required.
The Promoter will not be liable for any loss or damage or for any personal injury sustained as a result of taking the prize or entering into this competition. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability or any goods or services offered as the Prize. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss suffered to person or property by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the Promoter or its employees or agents, in connection with the arrangement for the supply, or the supply, of goods and services by any person to the winners, and where applicable, to any persons accompanying the winners.
