A Little Chaos sees actor Alan Rickman back in the director’s seat for the first time in 18 years since the underrated and touching film, The Winter Guest.
This time Rickman has transported us to the mid-to-late 1600s in the time of King Louis XIV (played by the director). Following the life of landscape gardener Sabine de Barra (Kate Winslet), we see her awarded the task of constructing The Grand Gardens at Versailles – causing Sabine to slowly work her way towards the King’s Court and inevitably to King Louis XIV.
