Emerging Writers’ Festival 2015 (ticket giveaway)




For writers, ‘emerging’ can seem like an interminable process. Is it something that happens once you press ‘publish’ on your blog? Or is the chrysalis-like transformation reserved for those who’ve had their novellas stocked at the Strand?

Truth be told, emerging can happen at any time, and from 26 May until 5 June there’s no better place to do it than the Emerging Writers’ Festival. A series of panels, parties, launches, and masterclasses, the festival has something to offer anyone who wants to develop their craft, or just hear from those who already have.

This year's centrepiece event is the National Writers’ Festival Conference, which features over 50 speakers across 17 events and covers a swathe of topics, though other highlights include the School of Life’s session on writing as therapy, and a series of conversations that look at the daily habits of successful writers.

While we're spruiking things: Smith Journal editor Adrian Craddock is speaking at two events: the Freelancing for Life Masterclass, where he'll disclose the secrets to surviving as a self-employed writer; and The Pitch, where he’ll talk about getting your work published.

It kicks off next week, so gather your pens, laptops, papyrus scrolls or whatever your medium of choice is and head here to check out the program.
