The Friends of the Australian Ballet has committed to making a major financial gift to The Australian Ballet for the development of David McAllister’s new, and what will be a landmark production of Sleeping Beauty, music by
Tchaikovsky. The Friends of The Australian Ballet will be permanently acknowledged as the custodian of
The Lilac Fairy character for the life of the production.

As a Member of the Friends of The Australian Ballet we are asking you to be a part of the Sleeping Beauty journey and
make a donation to support the legacy of The Lilac Fairy as a unique and special part of the Sleeping Beauty story.
Donor names will be published in our newsletter and donations over $20 will receive a Lilac Ribbon to wear in
support of The Lilac Fairy.

While Princess Aurora may be the heroine of The Sleeping Beauty, The Lilac Fairy is its spiritual conscience. She
intervenes at every turn of the ballet’s plot to bestow grace and mitigate the pain of destiny.
