This competition is a promotion run by The Weekend Edition Pty Ltd ABN 98 088 035 045  (“Co-promoter”) whose office is at 5 Morse Street, Newstead, and Brisbane City Council ABN 72 002 765 795 acting through Corporate Communication, Organisational Services (“Co-promoter”) whose principal offices are at Brisbane Square, 266 George Street, Brisbane.
Entries and information on prizes and how to enter form part of these terms and conditions (“Terms”). Entries not completed in accordance with these Terms are ineligible.
Participation in this competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms.
The Prize: There is one (1) prize only in this competition. The prize is for the weekend of Saturday August 29, 2015 from 1:30 pm to Sunday August 30, 2015 11:30 am. The prize includes the following:
• two reserved car parks within the King George Square carpark, Adelaide Street, Brisbane Qld 4000, for use over the weekend, valued at up to $15;
• personal concierge between 1:30–10:30 pm Saturday August 29 and 7:00am to 8:30 am Sunday August 30, valued at $1,250;

TOTAL VALUE: $8,625 inclusive gst.
How to enter:  Entrants must:
• complete the online entry form at http://theweekendedition.com.au/popuphotel/win/ and provide all details as stipulated. Entering automatically subscribes you to The Weekend Edition Brisbane (Co-promoter) e-newsletter and Brisbane City Council’s What’s On (Co-promoter) e-newsletter;
• enter only once, however all visitors to Council’s stand at Ekka 2015 will be able to enter a second time. All other multiple entries will be deemed null and void and removed from the competition.
Prize conditions:
• The winner/s must agree to use social media tools (Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter) to share photos of their prize experience;
• The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash and is valid only for the period stipulated in Section 4;
• Alcohol cannot be brought into The Pop-Up Hotel area. Any alcohol will be confiscated and will not be returned and you will be evicted from The Pop-Up Hotel;
• Animals are prohibited;
• The winner and guests consent to any official filming and sound recording of the weekend prize experience and give the Co-promoters permission to use such film and/or recording in any promotional material. The Co-promoters will notify the winner of any use of such film and/or recording.;
• The Co-promoters reserve the right to refuse the winner or their guests admission to the hotel or other locations or to evict that person if they are affected by alcohol or drugs, or act in contravention of any of these Terms;
• The Winner or their guests must not cause damage to, improperly use or tamper with any public or private facility or infrastructure, or cause any damage to flora and fauna on or surrounding the venues or enter any onsite bodies of water. Nor must they remove or attempt to remove any item or object from the venues or surrounding areas;
• The Winner or their guests will be removed from the site if they behave in a threatening or inappropriate manner (aggressive, riotous, abusive, or insulting actions) towards other patrons or staff.
Eligibility: To be eligible to enter this competition, a person must:
a) fully and legibly complete all the details on the official online entry form;
b) not be an employee or contracted staff of the prize providers;
c) not be an employee or contracted staff of Brisbane City Council or The Weekend Edition employees;
d) be over the age of 18 and have a valid Queensland address;
Competition Period: The competition commences at 8:00 am on Friday August 7, 2015 and closes midnight on Sunday August 23, 2015.
Competition Draw: The winner will be randomly drawn by a Council Officer at 12:00 pm Monday August 24, 2015 at Council’s Corporate Communication branch, 266 George Street, Brisbane, Qld, 4000. The winner of the prize will be the first eligible entry randomly drawn. The decision of that officer shall be conclusive and no correspondence will be entered into.
Winner Notification: The Winner will be notified via the phone number and email they provided when entering the competition, on Monday 24 August 2015.
Re-Draw: If the Winner is unable to be contacted within 24 hours of the draw, a redraw will occur. In the event that a redraw is required it will be held at 1:00 pm August 25, 2015 at Council’s Corporate Communication branch, 266 George Street, Brisbane, Qld, 4000. The redraw winner will be notified by the phone email provided when entering the competition. The Co-promoters will redraw the prize winner until a contactable winner/s has been located and the prize/s is claimed.
No Liability of Co-promoters: The Co-promoters accept no responsibility whatsoever for late, misplaced, lost or ineligible entries. The Co-promoters make no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of the prizes. To the extent permitted by law, the Co-promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury sustained in connection with the entry into the competition or acceptance of the prize. This paragraph is not intended to exclude any liability which cannot be excluded under Australian consumer protection laws. Any such liability is limited to the resupply of the prize.
Important –Privacy:  Entrants to the competition agree that:
• the personal information provided on the entry form will be used by the Co-promoters and prize providers for the purpose of conducting the competition;
• the personal information provided on the entry form may be collected, stored and used by the Co-promoters or entities acting on their behalf for the purposes of keeping entrants informed about the goods and services provided by the Co-promoters, If the entrant wishes to unsubscribe from the Co-promoters’ databases for this purpose, the entrant must:
1. contact Brisbane City Council’s Customer Contact Centre on (07) 3403 8888 or unsubscribe from the Council communication via the specific Council e-newsletter with the words UNSUBSCRIBE; and;
2. unsubscribe from The Weekend Edition enewsletters via the link on the bottom of the enewsletter sent to you.
• the winner and guests may be photographed, filmed and recorded and such images, film and sound recordings may be used in any media by the Co-promoters for promotional, marketing and publicity purposes;
• they consent to the use of their contact details for the purposes described in this clause. The Co-promoters may also disclose the entrants personal information if authorised or required to do so by law (for example, where we are required to disclose your personal information to a court in response to a subpoena). We will not disclose your personal information for any other purpose without your consent.
Force Majeure: If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned (including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Co-promoters), which corrupts or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the Co-promoters reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. The Co-promoters reserve the right in its sole discretion to disqualify all entries from any individual who tampers with, or benefits from tampering with, the entry process which as a result corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the competition.
In the case of the intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders it’s determination, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strikes; the Co-promoters may in their absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions.
The Co-promoters reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time and to cancel or amend the competition at any time without notice or further recourse to the entrants.
