Win 1 of 3 double passes to the Modigliani Quartet

Modigliani Quartet presented by Musica Viva
Conservatorium Theatre
Griffith University, South Bank, Brisbane
Thursday 8 October 2015, 7pm
Tickets available at qtix

Since their first Australian tour (with clarinettist Sabine Meyer), the Modigliani Quartet have gone from strength to strength, and now look well-placed to assume the mantle of the top French quartet of their generation. Elegant and masculine, the crisp articulation and rich timbres of this acclaimed ensemble are a perfect match for masterpieces which demand both strength and clarity.

Haydn’s quartet brings a natural lightness, paving the way for Beethoven and Schubert’s more powerful explorations.

HAYDN String Quartet no 36 in B flat major, op 50 no 1
SCHUBERT String Quartet no 10 in E flat major, op 125
WESTLAKE String Quartet no 2
BEETHOVEN String Quartet no 11 in F minor, op 95 ‘Serioso’

Philippe Bernhard violin
Loïc Rio violin
Laurent Marfain viola
François Kieffer cello
