It's back to school for the NEXO Knights after wizard Merlok sends them to Knights Academy in hope of developing new skills. Meanwhile, their greatest nemesis, Jestro, along with his ever-growing army of monsters, are back and ready to attack the kingdom of Knighton harder than ever. With a wicked plan in mind, the evil Jestro searches the hallowed halls of the Knight's academy for a special spell book.

Education does not go easily for the NEXO Knights, and they leap at the moment when Jestro unleashes his Lava monsters at them. The spell book thankfully goes unscathed, however Jestro jets off having stolen something else – Merlok's magical snowball. The courageous knights must then put their new skills into practice as Jestro may just have his hands on his best weapon yet.
