Held every two years, the competition is the most prestigious team championship for the sport, and in 2017 TOTAL BWF Sudirman Cup will be held here on the Gold Coast at the newly constructed Gold Coast Sports & Leisure Centre.

Between 21-28 May, The Sudirman Cup will attract more than 1,500 participants from around 180 countries to the Gold Coast, and be broadcast to a global television audience of over 400 million.

Only 3 countries, China, Korea and Indonesia, have claimed the title of World Mixed Team champion over the last 14 championships.

China has been champion an impressive 10 times and in 2017 will be coming to Gold Coast as the defending champions.
