It’s been 25 years since the official closure of Australia’s most notorious prison; Boggo Road Goal. Over 119 years of operation, thousands of men and women served time behind its red-brick walls. Forty-two prisoners were executed by hanging – the last in 1913.
In the 1980’s the Gaol experienced dramatic escapes, hunger-strikes and riots leading to its closure in July 1992.
To commemorate 25 years since its closure, Boggo Road Gaol is offering you the chance to win one of 5 x double passes to a The History of Boggo Road Gaol Tour. The tour tells of the dramatic escapes of infamous inmates, lifers, riots, roof top protests, and the daily lives of prisoners. The Gaol features impressive spaces available for event, function and wedding hire. The backdrop of the Gaol and its quarters makes for a photographers or videographers dream.
