The VIP pass will give the winner and a friend access to up to six conversations or panels of their choosing from Friday September 8 until Sunday September 10, as well as two tickets to a performance of Carpentaria, premiering as part of Angel’s Palace at this year’s festival. Carpentaria will bring to life Alexis Wright’s prize-winning novel of the same name, with a large-scale interpretive artwork and performance. Plus, to make the weekend truly VIP, the winner and their friend will stay in a junior suite at Rydges South Bank for the evening of Friday September 8 (valued at $249), including a full buffet breakfast for two at Bacchus the next morning (valued at $78) – after all, you’ll need to be sufficiently satiated before a day of literary magic.

Competition Terms and Conditions

The Prize is one VIP pass to the festival, providing access to up to 6 conversations or panels of their choosing from Friday 8 September, Saturday 9 September and Sunday 10 September. The winner and a friend will attend a performance of Carpentaria, premiering as part of Angel’s Palace. Carpentaria will bring to life the novel of Alexis Wright with a large-scale interpretive artwork and performance. PLUS the winner will stay at the Rydges hotel, with breakfast for two, and a junior suite included on Friday September 8.
Tickets valid for the Brisbane Writers Festival 2017.
Tickets are not transferrable, refundable or capable of exchange.  Tickets are not for resale, or used for commercial or promotional purposes.

Competition Dates: The Competition commences at 2:30 pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on Monday August 22, 2016 and closes at 5:00 pm on Wednesday August 31, 2016. All entries must be received by the Promoter by 11:59 pm on Wednesday August 31, 2016.
Competition Draw: The Winner will be randomly drawn onThursday September 1, 2016 by 5:00 pm. AEST at The Weekend Edition Office,41 Victoria Street, Windsor, 4030. The Winner of the Prize will be the first eligible entries randomly drawn. The decision will be conclusive and no correspondence will be entered into.
Winner Notification: The Weekend Edition will notify winners by email and phone on Friday October 2, 2015 by 5:00 pm. The Weekend Edition reserves the right to use information regarding the Winners of the Competition for marketing purposes, including publication of their names on the websites maintained by the Promoter.
No liability of Promoter: The Promoter accepts no responsibility whatsoever for late, misplaced, lost or ineligible entries. The Promoter makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of the Prizes to the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury sustained in connection with the entry into the Competition or acceptance of the Prize. This paragraph is not intended to exclude any liability which cannot be excluded under Australian consumer protection laws. Any such liability is limited to the resupply of the Prize.
