Calling all foodies — a new food adventure is about to start in this region.

BITE Markets at North Harbour, Morayfield, will officially open on March 1 as the new home to some 40 flavour makers.

Leading the culinary charge is Mitte Berlin Street Food, created by Suzanne and Brett Lang, who are from the Moreton Bay region. They will also operate Iced Tea Man.

They will be joined by Don Quixote Paella and Tapas, September 18 the popular North Lakes restaurant, Zoe’s Brownies from Kallangur’s Teegan Kuenz, Come on Mate! Gourmet Japanese, Fresh Gozleme and Tibetan Momo cafe, among many others.

BITE will also be home to the region’s most celebrated (and delicious) namesake — the Moreton Bay bug! Made exclusively for BITE Markets by local chef Suzie Mills at Moreton Bay Kitchen (another business exclusive to BITE Markets), the Bug Bun (as it’s affectionately known) contains fresh bug from Aussie Seafood House at Lawnton with homemade lime mayonnaise and fresh lettuce from Lawnton Country Markets. It’s simply a seafood sensation on a bun!

“BITE represents a new hub for local food creators and food lovers,” said BITE founder Tom Burke. “BITERS are set for a culinary journey around the globe.”

There is parking for more than 600 cars just off exit 150 of the Bruce Highway on Nolan Drive, Morayfield.

BITE Markets open 4-10pm Friday and Saturday. Entry $3 adults, children Under 12 free. Nothing at the markets is more than $15.
