Short film festival Flickerfest has hit the road for its national tour.

The tour will make stops all around Australia until October 2022, and one of its first stops is Brisbane, where audiences can expect a Best of Australian Shorts programme and a Best Of EU Showcase programme across two days, 10-11 March.

These programmes will be highlights of the festival’s recent major event in Bondi. The films screening are entertaining, inspiring, award-winning and fresh from their Bondi premieres, giving audiences a window into the hottest contemporary shorts from at home and across the world.

Highlights of the Australian Shorts selection include comedy drama ‘Stonefish’, ambitious sci-fi ‘Beacon’, documentary ‘Lost Contact’ and First Nations animated short ‘Jarli’.

Meanwhile, the Best Of EU Showcase sees highlights like ’Shower Boys’ from Sweden, the Flickerfest Special Jury Prize winner ‘A Summer Place’ from Cyprus, and Denmark’s ‘On My Mind’, which is in the running for the Best Live Action Short Film Academy Award.

Best Of Australian Shorts takes place at Palace James Street on 10 March at 7pm.
Best Of EU Showcase takes place at Palace James Street on 11 March at 7pm.
