The Three Capes is a three-day guided, pack-free walk to the three spectacular capes in the southern end of the Tasman Peninsula: Cape Raoul, which can only be reached by hiking, and has some of the most dramatic coastal scenery on the island. You’ll then hike to Cape Hauy to see the famed rock formations ‘Candlestick’ and ‘Totem Pole’, and view Cape Pillar with its 300-metre high cliff faces.

There’s also the choice of a helicopter ride over Cape Pillar and remote Tasman Island with Rotor-Lift Aviation, where you will land on Tasman Island and enjoy a guided hike – and have the island all to yourself – and skip the two-hour bus trip back to Hobart.

Or, join a wilderness cruise around Cape Pillar to see the spectacular cliffs from sea level. All you will carry over the three days is your water bottle, lunch and camera. Relax each night at Stewarts Bay Lodge in two-bedroom Bushview Deluxe Chalets. The walk can be amended to suit all fitness levels, from shorter to more challenging options.
