There is no maximum limit of entries via purchase mechanism.

How to enter

To enter, entrants must:

    Via email entry on the promoters campaign landing page, this will result in one (1) entry
    By booking any tour or activity on or from Travello, Backpacker Deals or any of our affiliates partner white label sites. A customer will receive five (5) entries for every booking. For the avoidance of doubt, a consumer may purchase multiple tours in one booking, but this will only constitute one booking and thus five (5) entries.

The cost of accessing the promotional website will be dependent on the entrant’s individual Internet Service Provider.

For method (a) above entries are limited to a maximum of 1 entry per eligible email. This will be completed by filling in the entry form to enter the competition.

There is no maximum limit on entries for method (b) above. They will receive 5 entries for every booking they make during the promotional period.

Entrants who make five separate transactions within the campaign period will automatically receive a ‘Golden Ticket’. This puts the entrant into a second pool of entrants, (i.e. just those who have Golden Tickets). This means a successful entrant can be chosen to be one of the final 2 entrants from both the Golden Ticket pool of entrants and the general pool of entrants.

All ‘manual bookings” (ie booking made through Travello sales/support team) must be paid in full by 31 July to be eligible.

The time of entry will be the time at which the completed online entry form is received by the Competition’s online database. Entries received outside of the Competition Period will be deemed invalid and ineligible to enter the Competition.

Major Prize:

One (1) chance to select one out of 100 envelopes where one envelope delivers a $1,000,000AUD prize. If the major prize winner does not select the $1,000,000 AUD, they will be awarded a $10,000 Travello travel voucher to be used on any tour/activity around the world on the Travello platform.

Major Prize: If the drawn Participant resides 100km or more outside of Brisbane CBD, the Promoter will provide transfers and accommodation for the Participant to attend the Game up to the value of $700

Minor Prizes:

Details of the prize draw

At the conclusion of the promotion period two (2) entries that satisfy the terms and conditions of entry will be randomly drawn from the pool of entries. One entry from the general pool and one entry from our Golden Ticket Pool. These 2 entrants will be the final 2 for our $1,000,000 draw’

This draw will occur on the 1st of August in Brisbane

A further 3 people will be drawn at this time, they will fill our minor prizes.

This draw will take place on August 7th 2023 and the winners list will be posted on the Travello website and contacted by email/phone.

The ‘final 2’ entrants (for clarity this is the first 2 people drawn) will travel to the destination chosen (TBC) for the final Draw.

These 2 finalists will then have one round of a game of chance to determine who will draw for the final million dollar prize.

Selection of the Winner:

The winner will be chosen via a game of chance in an ‘envelope style’ draw. This will be facilitated, overseen and scrutinized by Loss Adjusting Services Australia who will be in attendance. The final draw will be open to the public and media.

Game Rules:

At the beginning of the Game, there will be one hundred (100) numbered envelopes on display. Only one (1) of the numbered envelopes will contain a promotional message representing the Major Prize, while the remaining ninety-nine (99) envelopes will each contain a promotional message representing the Minor Prize. The Participant or their proxy/representative (“Attendee”) may select one (1) numbered envelope without touching or interfering with any other envelopes on display. The Attendee must indicate their selection by advising the Promoter of the number of the envelope they wish to select. If the Attendee is found to have breached this condition, they will be disqualified. The Attendee is only permitted to select one (1) numbered envelope. If the Participant selects (or their Attendee selects) the envelope containing the promotional message representing the Major Prize, they will win the Major Prize subject to verification by the judges. If the Participant (or their Attendee selects) the envelope containing the promotional message representing the Minor Prize, they will win the Minor Prize subject to verification by the judges.

Odds of Winning:

The odds of winning the Major Prize are 1 in 100. However, the odds of being selected as the Participant may be higher and will depend on the number of entries received.

There is no element of skill in the Competition or determination of the Winner. Times are Eastern Standard Time.

Prize Payment:

The Major Prize Winner will receive the cash prize within 30 days of envelope pick or the same person will win the $10,000 Travello travel voucher within 2 business days. The Minor Prize Winners will receive their prizes within 28 days of validation.

Prize winners not in attendance (Minor prize winners) will be contacted in writing within seven (7) days of the draw.

General

Entry into the promotion is open to all individuals who meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the Particulars, with the exception of directors, contractors, and employees (and their immediate families) of the Promoter, as well as any associated companies, suppliers, agencies, and prize providers. Eligibility requirements must be met at both the time of entry and at the time of prize winner determination.

By entering the Promotion, participants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions, which form a part of the entry requirements. If any inconsistency exists between these terms and conditions and any other material related to the Promotion, these terms and conditions shall take precedence.

The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of identity, proof of residency at the prize delivery address, and/or proof of entry or registration ownership to verify the validity of the claim for a prize. Winners who are unable to provide suitable proof will forfeit their prize in its entirety, and no substitute will be provided. The Promoter reserves the right to make this request at its sole discretion.

Entry Period

The Promotion Period is specified in the Particulars. All entries must be received by the Promoter within the Promotion Period. Entries will be deemed received at the time of receipt by the Promoter, not at the time of transmission by the entrant. The Promoter is not responsible for any late, lost, misdirected, delayed, ineligible, incomplete or corrupted entries or for delays in the delivery of entries due to technical disruptions, network congestion or any other reason.

How to Enter

Details on how to enter are provided in the Particulars. Entrants must not tamper with the entry process or engage in any unlawful or improper misconduct that could jeopardize the fair and proper conduct of the Promotion. Entrants must submit an entry that is in accordance with these terms and conditions. Entrants must not use a third party to enter on their behalf, except where necessary due to a disability. Entrants must not engage in conduct that the Promoter deems fraudulent, misleading, deceptive, or damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the Promotion and/or the Promoter.

The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant found to have breached these terms and conditions, including the above clause. If an entrant is disqualified, their entries will be invalidated, any claim to a prize will be invalidated, and the entrant must immediately return any awarded prize to the Promoter if they have already received one before being disqualified.

Drawing and Notification of Winner:

The winning entry/entries that comply with these terms and conditions will be selected as per the Particulars. In the event that a draw is scheduled on a public holiday, it will be conducted on the next business day. The Promoter's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entertained regarding the result or any other decisions taken in relation to the Promotion.

The major prize winner will be at the draw in person. The other minor prize winner will be notified via email or telephone within seven days of the draw. The names of the winners, identified by their first initial, surname, and postcode, will be published on the Winner Notification website mentioned in the Particulars, approximately ten days after the draw. The names will remain on the website for at least 30 days

The prizes will be awarded to the winner/s named in the winning entry/ies. However, if there is a dispute, the prize will be awarded to the account holder of the entry mechanism used to submit the entry (i.e. mobile phone account holder or landline account holder). If an entrant's contact details change during the Promotion Period, the entrant must notify the Promoter. A request to access or modify any information provided in an entry should be sent to the Promoter.

In accordance with State Regulation, an unclaimed prize draw will take place as set out in the Particulars. The winner/s of the unclaimed prize draw will be notified via email or telephone within two days of that draw.

Prize on Offer:

The prizes offered are as specified in the Particulars. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the prize values are based on the recommended retail prices at the time of the initial publication of these terms and conditions (inclusive of GST). The Promoter will not be responsible for any change in prize value between the time of publication and the ultimate prize redemption date.

As accepting the prize may have tax implications, it is recommended that the winner seeks independent financial advice. The prizes cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash. The winner must comply with all conditions of use of the prize and the requirements of the prize supplier. The winner is responsible for confirming these conditions with the prize supplier or any other relevant third party.

The winner/s may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter at its absolute discretion as a condition of accepting the prize.

By entering the competition, all entrants agree to be photographed by or on behalf of the Promoter during the envelope selection and leading up to it. The entrants and their companions agree not to sell or provide their story and/or photographs related to the prize to any media or organization without the Promoter's prior written consent. The Promoter may use any of these photographs, together with the winners' names and state of residence, to promote the Promoter or the Promotion.

If the Particulars specify a time/date by which the Prize must be taken, the winner must claim the prize by that stipulated time/date. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the entire prize, and cash will not be awarded in lieu of the prize.

Prize Conditions

To be eligible for any cash prizes, the name provided by the entrant in their entry must match the name of an eligible bank account where a cheque can be deposited. If the winning entry fails to provide this information, the Promoter may be unable to distribute the prize to the winner.

Additional Terms and Conditions

If this Promotion is unable to proceed as planned due to factors beyond the Promoter's control, including but not limited to computer virus, tampering, fraud, technical failures, vandalism, power outages, natural disasters, civil unrest, strikes, war, terrorism, epidemics, pandemics, or public health orders, the Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition. Any action taken will be subject to State Regulation.

In the event that the prize is unavailable due to causes beyond the control of the Promoter, including natural disasters, civil unrest, strikes, war, terrorism, epidemics, pandemics, or public health orders, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value, as permitted by State and Territory legislation. Winners must comply with all conditions of use and supplier requirements for the prize. The prize must be accepted as stated, and no compensation will be paid if the winner is unable to use it.

If the prize includes attendance at an event that is cancelled due to factors beyond the control of the Promoter, including pandemics, epidemics, public health orders, or the illness of a performer, the Promoter reserves the right to take action under any of the previous two clauses.

By accepting the prize, each winner grants permission for their submission, image, and/or voice, as recorded, photographed, or filmed during their participation in the prize, to be used in connection with the Promoter or any of its related bodies corporate or the goods and services of any of them or the advertising or marketing of any of them, in any media whatsoever throughout the world, and the winner will not be entitled to any fee.

Liability Limitation

The Promoter acknowledges that there may be rights and remedies available to entrants under the Australian Consumer Law in the Competition and Consumer Act (2010) (Australian Consumer Law) that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. However, to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Promoter shall not be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s (including but not limited to attendance at an event or travel undertaken during a current health warning, epidemic or pandemic) or any indirect or consequential loss, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information caused by an entrant or for any technical errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, delays in operation or transmission, theft, destruction, or unauthorized access to or alteration of entries that may occur in the administration of this competition or the equipment or programming associated with it.

The entrant is responsible for any costs associated with entering the Competition or claiming prizes, including internet service charges.

The Promoter, the Sponsors, and their associated agencies and companies are not responsible for any prizes that are damaged or lost in transit, or for late, lost, or misdirected mail.

The Promoter, the Sponsors, and their associated agencies and companies will not be held liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss (including consequential loss), or claim suffered by an entrant:

a) during the competition;

b) while undertaking any travel won or connected with their entry into the Competition;

c) in their participation in this Competition or in any Prize;

d) as a consequence of late, lost, or misdirected mail;

e) as a result of failure to comply with any of these terms and conditions; or

f) due to the publication of any material, including any statements made by any staff member, journalist, other entrants, or any other person.

The Promoter and its affiliates do not accept responsibility for any problems or technical malfunctions of any communication network or for any late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted, or misdirected entries, claims, or correspondence, whether due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries, and reserve the right to take any action that may be available.

If, for any reason, this Competition is unable to be conducted as planned, including but not limited to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Competition, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Competition, subject to state legislation.

In the event of any outside act, agent, or event that prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter's ability to proceed with the Competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, or acts of terrorism, the Promoter may, in its absolute discretion, cancel the Competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions.

All entries become the property of the Promoter and Sponsor. All opt-in entries will be entered into a database, and the Promoter and Sponsor may use the entrant's names, addresses, and telephone numbers for future promotional, marketing, and publicity purposes. By opting-in, entrants confirm their consent to allow their details to be used for this purpose. If entrants no longer consent to their details being used for future marketing purposes, they should contact the Promoter or Sponsor using the contact details provided below. Any request to update, modify, or delete the entrant's details should be directed to the Promoter or Sponsor.
