This album has been a long time coming, struck down by Murphy’s Law with everything going wrong from lawsuits, leaks and an unfortunate death. So what about the music? Dark Night of the Soul is like a drugged carnival of sorrow and beauty. It’s lead by an all star cast of everyone from Julian Casablanca, Wayne Coyne to Iggy Pop with singers on the album making good use of the opportunity to step outside of their everyday musical identities.
