2010 Competition Details

The 2010 Perilous Adventures Short Story Competition is NOW OPEN. Entries close August 31. You may enter your short story, in any genre, up to 5000 words. We're looking for well-written, original stories that move, amaze, entertain and excite us as readers. You can read last year's winning entries in the 09:05 issue of Perilous Adventures.

The winning authors will be invited to be part of a celebratory panel and announcement at the Brisbane Writers Festival on Friday, September 3, with short story mistress Cate Kennedy. The authors will have an opportunity to read from their work, and discuss the short story form.

Three winning authors will have their stories published in a special issue of Perilous Adventures, and will each receive a three month mentorship (worth $1250.00): an opportunity to work closely with an experienced writer and mentor on developing your skills as a writer.

Three runners-up will be offered enrolment in an Olvar Wood onLine (OWL) course of their choice.

You may enter as many times as you wish, as long as each entry is more fabulous than the one before.
