Greta Bradman Forest of Dreams Friday, 10 September 2010
Greta Bradman grew up in a family as renowned for its musical accomplishments as for its sporting prowess (her grandfather being cricketing legend Sir Donald Bradman). Some of Greta’s musical accomplishments include being a member of the award-winning Eve Vocal Trio and Adelaide Chamber Singers, being resident female vocalist for The Firm’s concert series for the past four years, and performing as invited guest soloist with a range of ensembles and choirs including the Australian String Quartet, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Adelaide Chamber Players, Adelaide Baroque, the Kegelstatt Ensemble, Soundstream New Music Ensemble, Syzygy, the Adelaide Philharmonia Chorus, Syntony, Graduate Singers and Cantamus to name a few.
“This album does reflect a time in my life, of who I am at the moment, a special time…..and they’re beautiful songs filled with meaning for children and adults alike. This is the album I want to play my little boys Jude and Caspar - to expose them to classical music and to other languages - to give them every opportunity to develop their intellect and their personality, and to help calm them at the end of the day to entice them to have a solid sleep!! Right now I couldn’t wish for more than to create an album of truly beautiful lullabies, which I can share with my family and others who are interested in helping their little ones sleep, in mood regulation, and in their cognitive development. Through psychology, I found myself helping one person at a time but with music, there’s so much good that can be done on such a larger scale. And not forgetting adult listeners who love good quality, accessible and beautiful classical vocal music! I hope they get a lot from this album too”. Greta Bradman
