The Jed Art Award is open to any artist working in a 2-dimensional medium.
The theme of entered art-work is to be ... “voices connect”
P r izes include $1200 prize for the winning artwork, $450
Shepparton Arts Festival Prize and a Peoples Choice prize of $200
Artists should complete and sign this application form and send:
a brief, current cv
four labeled images of previous works*
a brief written statement of no more than 50 words of the proposed work and how it
meets the theme ... “voices connect”
*No example of previous work is required if you have been a previous entrant in the Jed

Qualifying artists will be invited to produce a work for the exhibition.
Application deadline: 5pm Friday, January 14th, 2011.
Finalists notified by: January 21st, 2011.
Exhibition venue: Eastbank Centre, 70 Welsford St. Shepparton
Exhibition date: March 7th – April 3rd 2011.
Official opening and winners announced: Thursday March 10th, 2011.

* 1. Fully completed application forms must be returned to 14 Welsford St. Shepparton 3630, or email;
johnh@mcmedia.com.au or faxed to 03 5822 1453 by 5.oopm January 14th 2011.
* 2. Qualifying artists will be invited to participate by 21st January 2011.
* 3. Courier or hand delivered artworks should be delivered between 10 am and 4 pm during weekdays to the Shepparton
Foot Clinic, 14 Welsford St. Shepparton, 3630 by February 18th 2011.
* 4. Qualifying artists will be required to pay an administration fee of $10 for each artwork entered. Cheques to be made to
the Shepparton Arts Festival.
* 5. Each entry must be accompanied by an Artists Statement of no more than 50 words describing how the artwork is inspired
by the theme.... "voices connect” .
* 6. Each entry must be signed and dated where possible and ready for hanging, including d-rings or wire. And each entry must
have the name of the artist and the name and price of the artwork, attached to the back upper left corner.
* 7. The artwork must be 2-dimensional (ie. able to be hung on a wall) and the size of the artwork must not exceed 1.2 metres
in either dimension, including frame and no more than 2 pieces per artist will be accepted.
* 8. All delivered entries must be correctly labeled and packaged and packing must be of a quality to allow its reuse for return
of unsold works, e.g. bubble wrap.
* 9. All entries must be delivered free of charges. No payment will be made for freight or other charges incurred in delivery or
return of works. Arrangement for return of entries by courier is to be made by the artist.
* 10. Entries may be for sale, with a 25% commission to the Shepparton Arts Festival (prices must include GST if ABN
registered).
* 11. Payment of sales and acquisitions will be made within 60 days of the date of close of exhibition, unless otherwise agreed.
* 12. Winners of the Jed Award and Shepparton Arts Festival Prizes will be announced at the official opening of the
Shepparton Arts Festival on the 10th of March 2011. The exhibition will run until Sunday 3rd of April 2011. (Venue of
Festival Opening to be confirmed)
* 13. Shepparton Foot Clinic will award $1200 for the winning Jed award and Carmel and Peter Johnson will award
$450 as the Shepparton Arts Festival Prize at the opening of the Shepparton Arts Festival. These awards are not
acquisitive. The Peoples Choice prize of $200 sponsored by Shepparton Foot Clinic will be awarded on Sunday 13th
March 2011.
* 14. The judges’ decisions regarding exhibition selections and awards are final and no correspondence shall be entered into.
* 15. Unsold entries from the exhibition must be collected from the Eastbank Centre between 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm on
Sunday the 3rd of April 2011. Artwork not collected by this date will be transferred to Shepparton Foot Clinic, 14 Welsford
St. Shepparton and may be collected between office hours during weekdays. No responsibility will be taken for uncollected
entries.
* 16. The Shepparton Arts Festival reserve the right to withdraw award prizes if the required standard is not obtained or if
entries are not adequately associated to the theme of ... "voices connect”.
* 17. The Shepparton Arts Festival reserve the right to reproduce any works for archival and catalogue purposes and allow any
work to be reproduced by any media for publicity purposes. The signed Application form is evidence of the artist’s consent.
* 18. Insurance for artwork is the responsibility of the artist. The Shepparton Arts Festival accepts no liability for loss or
damage either in the course of transit or while entries are in the custody of the Shepparton Arts Festival. However, all care will
be taken with entries submitted.
* 19. Unclaimed entries, as of the 30th June, 2011, will become the property of the Shepparton Arts Festival, for disposal at
the organizers discretion.
