Are you aged 25 or under and want to win some great cash and prizes? The Future Shots Sustainability Film Challenge is now open. For the second year running, Future Shots invites all young Victorians to create a short film of under three minutes addressing the theme of sustainability.

You could film a drama, documentary, animation, music video, advertisement, a blend of these, or even a new genre altogether!

All you have to remember is to stick to the Future Shots theme of 'sustainability'. You might even like to make a film with one of our major prize entry categories in mind: 'water-smart cities', 'waste-free Victoria' or 'smart energy'.

There are over $9000 in cash and prizes to win across 10 categories, so all young Victorians - whether you're 5 or 25 - have a great chance of being in the running.

This year's film entry deadline is November 15 so now's the time to start conjuring, storyboarding and filming your best ideas.

Excited yet? To inspire you a little more, check out Future Shots' major award categories:

    * $2000 Sustainability Victoria Award for Best Film
    * $1500 for Melbourne Water’s Water-Smart Cities Award
    * $1500 for the Waste-Free Victoria Award sponsored by the Metropolitan Waste Management Group and Visy
    * $2200 worth of prizes for the Smart Energy Film Award sponsored by Planet Savers
    * $1000 worth of prizes for CERES Environment Park's Best Film by a School Award
    * Plus $350 in cash plus other prizes for the best films in the under 12, 13-17 and 18-25 age categories

Calling all young Victorians with a vision for a sustainable future.

Are you aged 5 to 25 and want to win some great cash and prizes? The Future Shots Sustainability Film Challenge is now open. For the second year running, Future Shots invites all Victorians 25 and under to create a short film of under three minutes addressing the theme of sustainability.

With over $9000 in cash and prizes to be won, Future Shots encourages young Victorians to creatively explore sustainability in their world.

• Entry deadline is 15 November 2010.
• Entries are invited from individuals, teams, schools and tertiary institutions throughout Victoria.
• Cash and other prizes valued at over $9000 will be awarded to the best short films in 10 award categories, judged by a panel of industry experts.
• The Future Shots Awards Night will be held in December 2010 at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Federation Square.

All genres (drama, documentary, animation, music video, advertisement) are accepted as long as the theme of sustainability is addressed. There are also prizes for the best films addressing themes of water-smart cities, waste-free Victoria and smart energy use. The major award categories are:
• $2000 Sustainability Victoria Award for Best Film
• $1500 for Melbourne Water’s Water-Smart Cities Award
• $1500 for the Waste-Free Victoria Award sponsored by the Metropolitan Waste Management Group and Visy
• $2200 worth of prizes for the Smart Energy Film Award sponsored by Planet Savers
• $1000 worth of prizes for CERES Environment Park's Best Film by a School Award
• Plus more prizes for the best films in the under 12, 13-17 and 18-25 age categories

This is more a call for entries into the event. Future Shots culminates in an awards night at ACMI Cinemas on December 15, 2010.
