If you have travel pictures to be proud of, then we invite you to enter our Pictures of the World Photo Competition.
We’re looking for photographs that perfectly capture a place through the local people, traditions, sights and monuments. We want to see our tours through your eyes. Whether your pictures are of you appreciating new cultures, locals living their lives in exotic landscapes or stunning scenery shots, we are genuinely interested in seeing what you saw.
To enter and be in with a chance of winning an escorted Trafalgar tour and return economy flights completely free of charge*, email your travel picture to
photocompetition@trafalgartours.co.uk by midnight (GMT) on November 30 2010. Your photo can be of anything you've seen while travelling, especially the true character of the place; be creative!
Attach your photo (in JPEG format) to your email and send it to us before the closing date to enter. By sending your email, you are deemed to have read and accepted our General Competition Terms and Conditions and our Photo Competition Terms and Conditions.
You might even have the fun of seeing pictures you took popping up in Trafalgar's brochures, on our website or in our advertising too.

Photo Competition Special Terms and Conditions
These rules of entry are specific to our 2010 Pictures of the World Photo Competition.
Entry into all Trafalgar's competitions is subject to our General Competition Rules set out in the General Competition Terms and Conditions.
Acceptance of Terms and Conditions: Completion and submission of a registration slip or e-mail will be deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and our General Competition Terms and Conditions.
Entry: Is limited to five photos per entry and one entry per individual.
Entry Fee: Entry is free and no purchase is necessary.
Eligibility: Open to all photographers worldwide. Entrants must be 18 years or older and may be professionals or non-professionals.
Winners are responsible for ensuring they are able to accept the prize as set out and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and our General Competition Terms and Conditions. In the event the winners are unable to do so then Trafalgar reserves the right to award and redraw the prize.
Deadline: Submissions will be accepted from 12:01am (GMT) on 1 May, 2010 through 23:59 (GMT) 30 November, 2010.
Original Photographs Only: Only original photographs that (a) you have taken, (b) that do not infringe any other person’s intellectual property rights, and (c) that have not been previously published can be submitted.
Submission Details: Both colour and black and white pictures are accepted. Please submit all images via e mail. Only JPEG files will be accepted. The size of the images should be no larger than 800pixels x 800pixels. All layers should be flattened and have a JPEG compression quality of 7or 8. Images should be saved with a resolution of 300dpi. Images will be viewed as RGB profiles.
File names should be in the following format: Lastname_Firstname_image1.JPEG, Lastname_Firstname_image2.JPEG, etc. Do not use special characters. There should only be one period just prior to the file extension (i.e. .JPEG). Please note: image title is not the same as file name. Each entrant may submit up to five images. Submit images for consideration to:
photocompetition@trafalgartours.co.uk. Include your name, address, phone number and email address in the body of the email.
Judging: The competition will be judged by a panel of judges from Trafalgar. Judging will take place at the Trafalgar office in Geneva and will occur on 15 December 2010. The winning photographs will be chosen based on the opinion of our judges, and will demonstrate the greatest originality and creative merit.
This competition is one of skill; chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each entry will be individually judged based on originality and creative merit. The judges’ decision in relation to all aspects of this Competition is final and binding on all who enter and no correspondence will be entered into.
Prizes: Recognition will be given to First Place, Second Place and Third Place.
First Place winner will receive a 14 day (or less) Trafalgar tour for two people based on twin share and inclusive of economy return flights from their point of origin. The winner may choose any 14 day (or less) Trafalgar tour operating anywhere in the world. There is no cash or other alternative to the prize stated and the prize is not transferable and no part or parts of the prize may be substituted for other benefits, items or additions. The prize will be valid for 12 months from issue of notification.
Second and third place winners will each receive a 10 day (or less) Trafalgar tour for two individuals based on twin share and inclusive of economy return flights from their point of origin. The second and the third place may each choose any 10 day (or less) Trafalgar tour operating anywhere in the world. There is no cash or other alternative to the prize stated and the prize is not transferable and no part or parts of the prize may be substituted for other benefits, items or additions. The prize will be valid for 12 months from issue of notification.
Notification: All winners will be notified via email within 30 days after the competition ends. At that time each winner will receive instructions on acceptance of their prize. All reasonable endeavors will be made to contact the winner during this 30 day period, but if a winner cannot be contacted or is not available within this time frame, Trafalgar reserves the right to choose another winner from the entries which were received before the closing date. The winners each will be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prize. The prize will be valid for 12 months from issue of notification.
Privacy and Consent to Publication: If you submit your photograph to the competition, you agree to allow us free use of the photograph in our marketing, online, print and editoral materials.

Copyright: By entering, any subsequent prize winners agree to allow the free use of their names, photographs and general locations for publicity and news purposes during this and future promotions by Trafalgar. Entrants will retain copyright in their submitted entries, however, by entering, all entrants license Trafalgar to a worldwide royalty-free perpetual license to edit, grant sub-licenses publish and use each entry in any and all media (including print and online) for marketing, publicity and news purposes.
Terms and Conditions: By entering, all eligible entrants agree to abide by each and all of these terms and conditions and those set out in our Trafalgar General Competition Terms and Conditions. Trafalgar reserves the right, with or without cause, to exclude entrants and withhold prizes for violating any of these terms and conditions.
