HOW TO ENTER
To enter, post a story about a bad gift you have given or received on the Official ‘Stories’ website (
http://stories.redballoon.com.au/giftsgonebad). Winners will be selected by the panel of judges from the short list of entries.
To be shortlisted your story must receive a minimum of 25 votes from the public. There are 4 prizes to be won, with a total prize pool of $2000 worth of RedBalloon Gift Certificates.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1. Submission of entry is deemed to be acceptance of these Conditions of Entry.
2. Promotional period commences 30/11/2010 and closes 17/12/2010 at 23:59 (AEDST). No responsibility accepted for late, lost or misdirected claims.

Only one entry into the competition per person will be allowed. Evidence of multiple submissions from one individual shall invalidate the entry.
4. Entry is open to Australia and New Zealand residents.
5. Entries are only valid if successfully posted on the ‘When Good Gifts Go Bad’ website (
http://stories.redballoon.com.au/giftsgonebad) before the competitin close date.
6. There are 4 x $500 RedBalloon Gift Certificates to be won.
7. The winners will be notified by email and will receive their prize within 2 weeks of promotion end.
8. All entrants must have a valid email address to enter the promotion. The Promoter collects entrants’ personal information in order to conduct the promotion and fulfil prizing. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion. Promoter’s privacy policy can be viewed at

9. Contact details entered incorrectly shall invalidate the entry. The Promoter is not responsible for receipt of incomplete, damaged or incomprehensible entries. All such inaccurate, incomplete or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid. Any entry that does not comply with these terms and conditions will be invalid.
10. Employees of the Promoter, RedBalloon Pty Ltd, the Promoter’s associated companies, the Promoter’s agencies associated with this promotion and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.
11. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify a story if deemed unsuitable based on the story categories provided. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries, at any time during or after the promotion, and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant (and ALL entries submitted by that entrant) for tampering or interfering with the entry process or any other activities which is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry. Failure of the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. Any competition entry that is found to be plagarised will automatically be disqualified.
12. The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, age and residence. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the Promoter. If the winner is under 18 years the prize may at the absolute discretion of the Promoter be awarded to the winner’s parent or guardian.
13. Prizes or any unused portion of a prize are not transferable or exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
14. RedBalloon Gift Certificates are valid for 12 months from the date of the prize draw.
15. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from acceptance of the prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought.
16. The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss, damage, personal injury or death whatsoever (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) suffered or sustained in connection with this promotion, as a result of taking or using any of the prizes, or any act or omission (whether negligent or not) of the Promoter and any person associated with it, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
17. If for any reason this promotion is not capable of running as planned, including but not limited to technical failures, unauthorised intervention, fraud or any other cause beyond the control of the Promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the Promoter reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the promotion.
