Terms and conditions
“NEW YEAR’S EVE FAMILY EXPERIENCE TO REMEMBER”
1. By entering into this competition, you agree to these terms and conditions.
2. Entry is open to all residents of Australia, except employees and immediate families of the Promoter, associated companies and agencies and prize givers. The Promoter is Melbourne City Council, 240 Little Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000.
3. ‘The Prize’ is ‘a New Year’s Eve family experience to remember in Melbourne’ valued at $1224.55 which includes:
1. Overnight accommodation at Hilton on the Park for two adults and two children (under 12 years) at in two spacious King Deluxe connecting rooms including buffet breakfast in the Gallery Restaurant and self-parking. Valued at $830.
2. Picnic hamper and picnic rug valued at $134.95.
3. Booklet of 10 carnival ride vouchers to use at the New Year’s EveFamily Festival. Valued at $60.
4. Family pass (two adults and two children under 12 years) to matinee performance of Le Grande Cirque at the Regent Theatre at 2pm, 1 January 2010. Valued at $199.60.
4. The competition commences on 24/11/2010 at 10am and closes on 22/12/2010 at 4pm AEDST.
5. To enter the random draw, entrants must correctly complete and submit the online form, filling out all required fields, prior to 5pm, Wednesday 22 September 2010.
6. Entrants must either ‘like’ the New Year’s Eve presented by City of Melbourne Facebook page (found at
www.facebook.com/nyemelb ), be a follower of the New Year’s Eve in Melbourne Twitter profile (found at
www.twitter.com/nyemelb ) or subscribe to the New Year’s Eve enewsletter to be eligible to win. This will be confirmed before the random draw is conducted.
7. Entrants must be 18 years or older to win. For the purposes of the competition, a ‘family’ refers to two adults, and two children under 12 years of age.
8. Only one entry per person per subscription to New Year’s Eve Facebook, Twitter and the enewsletter. One person is eligible to up to three entries if they subscribe to all three: Facebook, Twitter and the enewsletter. 9. Incomprehensible, illegible or incomplete entries will be deemed invalid. All entries become the property of Melbourne City Council.
10. The winning entry will be drawn at random at 5pm on 22/12/2010, by Melbourne City Council representatives at Level 7, 240 Little Collins Street, Melbourne, 3000.
11. The winner will be contacted via the mobile phone and/or email provided by the winner in the submitted entry form.
12. If Melbourne City Council representatives are unable to contact the winner and the winner does not communicate acceptance of the prize prior to 4pm on 23/12/2010, that winner will forfeit the prize in its entirety and the Council will then award the prize to the first runner up drawn in the promotion. Melbourne City Council will not be liable to a winner who cannot be contacted and therefore forfeits their prize, and no correspondence will be entered into. Melbourne City Council reserves the right to request the winner to provide proof of identity and proof of age. Proof of identity, proof of residence and proof of age considered suitable for verification is required at the discretion of Melbourne City Council. In the event that a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the prize in whole and no substitute will be offered or compensation paid.
13. If the prize is unavailable for whatever reason Melbourne City Council reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value, subject to State regulation. It is a condition of accepting a substitute prize that the winner must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements. Each prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if the winner is unable to use the prize as stated or provided.
14. Melbourne City Council reserves the right to re-draw in the event of an entrant claiming to be a winner being unable to satisfy these Terms and Conditions.
15. All entries and any copyright subsisting in the entries become and remain the property of Melbourne City Council. Council collects personal information about entrants in the competition and will comply with its Privacy Policy, which is available at
www.melbourne.vic.gov.au 16. Any change in the value of the prize claimed is not the responsibility of Melbourne City Council.
